So with the removal of the old exploration clusters and the random mission maps within, I thought it might be fun to change them, add a few new things and bring them back.
Mainly, each cluster could have a full story arc. But the arc is fractured. Each time you play a random mission you might discover something more about the events going on with in the cluster.
well I know one thing for sure that cryptic needs to remove the first contact mission and such from the available missions if they are going to remove the exploration area other wise they better put them back.
Normally I just go with the flow on changes, but I hate the fact the exploration clusters hav ebeen removed. I loved flying into them and seeing what was out there. The random mission generator, ok, the missions were a bit naff, but it felt like I was exploring the great unknown. No bases, few ships, I was truly going where no one had gone before, with no clue what I was getting into until I got there. It was the only part of the game that let me feel like that. But seeing what's happened on tribble with them just being glowy globs in the sectors.....

The interact distance of the new blobs needs to be doubled or tripled at the very least. On Holodeck we have a huge sector-sized surface to interact with on most clusters, but on Tribble we have the same problem as the Dyson Sphere gateway. If a cluster is popular, it's going to have a dozen giant "Scimitards," as another player put it, clogging up the space around the clusters.
But frankly, if Cryptic is dead set on removing the Genesis exploration maps, I would prefer that the square cluster maps were to stay as they are and continue to have farmable particles. The positive cutting of 1 load screen is not worth all of the negative side effects that happen when you remove the cluster maps.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
If it's in any way possible, I would like to see the new clusters added as Foundry mission starting points. That way players can basically create their own exploration missions. If the Foundry Interface at some points also gets an upgrade to show you missions listed for a particular starting point... That would be neat.
