Since the mods have posted NO reason for shutting down the first thread, we will just have to keep bringing it up till they ban us all or give us an actual reason. You know, in public not a ticket where they can just write people off behind closed doors.
You mods are going way to far and overstepping your bounds. We have every right to talk about a ship in this game. And no Im not trying to get banned, we were all just fine talking in our thread about a topic when after 700+ pages someone decided to butt in and not even say why.
So mods, either give a good reason the first thread was closed, or STFU and stay out of a new one.
Howbout a thread talking about the Galaxy Class. What you like about it? What were some of your most inspired moments in-game flying one?

I like the concept of Brussard Collectors and remember finding out about them through the encyclopedia. That made me notice the front end of the nacelles even more in the shows.
I still remember being annoyed though, at the first time I flew the Galaxy in beta. It just didn't turn good and it's probably tainted my outlook on the ship ever since.
LoL. Ironicly I think the one swatting the nest is the mods at this point.
As for inspiring moments with my Galaxys ingame... dont think ive had one. I flew it in beta and back then turn rate was so awful you couldnt pick up your own loot hardly lol. The layout is bad, the console layout is bad, I thought of saying she looks geat in screen shots but her model and textures are pretty bad.
The galaxy x model has horrible missalinement. All that said, some minor tweaks and she would be a great ship. People keep posting if you make an iconic ship good no one will buy anything else but that hasnt proven to be true.
The sov refit is iconic and a great ship but people still buy new ships. Same with the Akira, etc etc.
Closest thing to inspiring moment ive had with the galaxy was when fleet eng consoles came out, and I got her to run on steady 20 degrees per sec turnrate without seperating, and without sacing all my armor for just RCS boost. Turning inside the solar system was a nice change with her.

its always been about the usability issues of the galaxy R. we frankly DON'T CARE if it got a flat DPS buff or more science, it was terrible as is, better off using 11/12 station powers instead of trying to work in that 3rd ENS eng. LITERALLY any change in any direction would have been an improvement. the galaxy X is its own ship, its not an optional costume you can put on the galaxy R, and make it go away. it even gets to be a dreadnaught wile the R dont, for really no good reason
An explanation as to why the thread was closed would be nice. The thread was pretty civil overall and the galaxy is legitimately the worst cruiser in the game.
Doesn't matter if the Gal X is intended to be the dps variant (which I dont agree), doesnt change that the Galaxy R is still under par. Nor does the Galaxy R which is supposed to be the "run of the mill galaxy" reflect the shows at all.
And a lot of us werent trying to turn it into a DPS ship, just give it the dps it should have, and the sci it should have. The Galaxy R languishes behind not only the excel, but the ambassador in performance ingame.
A massive eng heavy ship just flat doesn't work well in this game with current boff powers, and the way eng consoles are atm. Suggesting Boff and console changes IS working within the confines of a reasonable change.
Cryptic as much admitted the Galaxy R layout as not working well, the Fleet negvar got diff console and modded boff layout. When the D'D was being tested and they posted the Boff layout and console layout identical to the Galaxy R everyone screamed change it. And they did.
One instance of change a pattern doesnt make, but 2 on the other hand one starts to form. The Galaxy X is a seperate ship, its not like the oddy variants. The reason so many of us campaigned for so long is because we love TNG and the galaxy ingame doesn't reflect it, not to make an uber ship so we don't have to buy anything ever again.
If we wanted a god ship we would be asking for 6 CMD Uni 50 fore and aft weapons. Asking for things like a similar layout to the D'D is hardly doing that.

i like how nefarious you make it sound everyone that disagrees with you is. theres a lot more to this game then stfs, like pvp namely, were ship limitations don't only become noticeable, they break the ship. you are showing grave ignorance if you switch to a galaxy R over an X if you want to tank better, because you give up a universal ENS in exchange for one that cant be used properly, and like half your firepower.

I like how you sit there and act like they are the same ship. No the galaxy bundle isnt like the oddy bundle. The galaxy x was given saucer seperation AFTER the fact, they added a 2pc bonus just so they could sell them as a bundle. And unlike the kumari which can use costume parts from its variants they Galaxy R can not use the X nor can the X use just a plain galaxy skin.
No matter how much you want to compare them and say that they are the same, they are totally different situations.
And ya i would love to play an OP galaxy r, so op its equal to a fleet D'd.... wait.... thats OP?! Here I was thinking that would just make them equally as good.... cause if you think the Fleet G-R is on par with a Fleet D'd your smokin something you should share with the rest of the class.
