Science, Closing Memory Alpha and the Daystrom Institute

I'd be interested to know what is going to happen to the Memory Alpha location.
It is/was the federations primary research facility, and with it being closed to players now we have lost that link to the science themes of the show

Obviously Its not gone forever I hope, there is always the option of bringing it back ( I hope its planned for further down the line of development).

I'd also like to know if we might ever see the Daystrom Institute as a location in game? Its civilian if I recall, and so would be open to all factions perhaps?

I suspect that a Memory Alpha update is one of the possible things Tacofangs meant when he said that they were working on something that would be used more than just for the summer over in the Risian bridge thread.

Welcome to the world of the impatient, lazy, and quick grind obsessed.

I, for one, have no issues with some of the time sinks in this game. Having to travel somewhere, to do something, is one of them.

No, with quickie crafting and elimination of the Exploration Clusters for certain doffing missions/chains, it's just one more "obstacle" removed for those who just want to quickly move from one shoot 'em up fest to another.

Actually Memory Alpha was the Federations Library, not a R&D hub. So in one aspect I'm happy its no longer a crafting spot. But would like them to make it into a true Library. They could easily take stories that never made it into missions and turn it into STO Lore. They did this with Neverwinter, I recall able to read some books for accolades.

Be nice if they did add Ship crafting at Utopia Planitia and Weapon R&D at Jupiter Station.

I agree with that entirely, I like going somewhere to do something, and Was only too happy to travel to a location to do it

I'd love ship crafting to rock up at Utopia, since the map already exists, Jupiter might be asking a lot of work though
