I have flown the Assault Cruiser, the Assault Cruiser Refit, and the Fleet Assault Cruiser, as well as the Galaxy Refit, Retrofit and the Fleet Galaxy Retrofit. They're all pretty nice ships. However, my new Fleet Galaxy-X Dreadnought does what I wanted the above ships to do.
She tanks, she heals herself, she deals out damage like crazy. She even occasionally one-shots unshielded Borg Cubes. I just wonder how I can make her better. I have a Cloaking Device, Antimatter Spread and Saucer Separation able to be put on it.. but here are my questions about it...
-What gear do I put on it?
-Do I even THINK of putting Dual Heavy Cannons on it?
-Should I ditch Aux2Bat for a more healing and damage oriented build?

In general, the only Galaxy console worth slotting is the Saucer Separation one for it's increase in maneuverability and added weapon power during separation.
Aux2Batt is debatable. Adding Fleet consoles, like Vulnerabity Locators consoles, would likely help. Going Plasma would be another way to increase your damage output, particularly with Plasma infused Fleet consoles, Romulan console set with Plasma energy weapons would give you a big weapon power boost. Tachyon Glider from a 2-piece Omega set might help too.
By the way, if you want crazy turn-rates use the Fleet RCS consoles that also include +ResAll, they are like having a super-sized RCS and Neutronium in one slot.
Otherwise, it would be helpful for nice people in the forums here to be able to have a look at your build.

i run mine with 2 set borg and fleet-shields. u though may have a look on solanae engine/2 set (or dyson, not sure atm)
I don't have Spire consoles because the fleet I am in only has a Tier 1 Spire, and the Enhanced consoles are from a fleet I used to be in that I left due to personal reasons.
I am saving up for one more Enhanced console and maybe one of the Phaser Soire consoles. I only got 8k dilithium on me, waiting on the reset to hit before I get more...
Dreadnought class. Two times the size, three times the speed. Advanced weaponry. Modified for a minimal crew. Unlike most Federation vessels, it's built solely for combat.

BO is the equivalent to a torpedo, and you already have the wide-angle quantum and the KCB.
There are no consoles slotted that has any synergy to them to boost your boat.
The Assimulated Module in the Omega rep is the first one to slot, along with other useful pluses, it adds +5 weapon power. Since you already have the KCB slotted, it's +10 weapon power boost! I recommend that you drop the Cloak console and replace it with this. Saucer separation, when activated, adds +10 weapon power as well! These all add up and give you a big boost.
The only items that should be in Tactical slots are tactical consoles that are for your specific weapon type. Either add another Phaser Relay or replace them all with Fleet Vulnerability Locators or Exploiters, for Phasers.
I also recommend that you add Torpedo Spread (TS) and Beam Fire at Will (BFAW) into the Ensign Tactical slots. For The Lt. tactical, slot Attack Pattern Beta, it's a damage debuff for one target... it's helps a lot.
There must be something more to do with the Engineering abilities but that's all I got for the moment.
Characters skills, abilities and traits also add to the mix.

You know what noblet, your right. I don't agree with you. Ever as far as I know...we build different. but that 2p nukara, it finally clicked for me.
But if dps is what you want, wouldn't you rather go counter command deflector, nukara shield / engines?
Either way. That's what I'll be doing from now on...

You also cleaned out the undine 2pc console set that buffs phaser damage 10%
2p set is 7.5%. Which is ate by -1 spire console. You get same effect for using twice the slots.:P
just double-checked and yeah its bonus but it works out about the same as the final damage gains from fleet
