At one time, players could acquire an anti-borg Bat'leth. Love it or hate it, we no longer have access to it. I propose that there be a tab in the Omega Reputation Store that give out anti-borg melee weapons. It should be rather easy to make a Mk12 version of each of the four melee weapons and give them the modifiers that were found on the original [CrtD][CrtH][Borg]bat'leth.
Just gimme a good 'ol Tommy Sub-Machine gun which fires 45 calibre ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) bullets. Depending on the specific model, it can shoot between 600 - 1,500 rounds per minute.
Nothing but pure kinetic damage... something that the Borg has little defense against.
I would modify the muzzle so that the exhaust shoot up (creating downward pressure) to increase accuracy by reducing muzzle climb which is an inherent drawback of machine and sub-machine guns.
Drag it into the the 25th century by putting a laser target site on it.
Since Melee-Weapons are already the most Anti-Borg-Weapons you get I doubt you need to add that Modifier.
As for the Machinegun, we already had the TR-116
Bah, a single shot sniper rifle.
Does you no good at short range when you are getting swarmed by lots of enemies. Just gimme a good automatic weapon from WW II era or later. I'll even take a Micro Uzi which can fire 600 or 1,700 (depending on the model) 9mm bullets per minute. Nowhere near the stopping power of .45 ACP ammo, but at least it is lighter to carry.
For a sniper rifle, I would prefer the good 'ol American Barrett .50 Cal which fires 50 calibre BMG (Browning Machine Gun) rounds. For lighter ammo I would just go for the Russian (and former Soviet Union) Dragunov SVD which is capable of firing 7.62mm ammo.
I would modify the muzzle so that the exhaust shoot up (creating downward pressure) to increase accuracy by reducing muzzle climb which is an inherent drawback of machine and sub-machine guns.
You should try firing an MP7 next time you're at a range, if they have it. There's a range in Miami that has it. Pretty much non-existent muzzle climb and recoil, a beautiful weapon.
