Ideas for future reps

Was just thinking how it'll be if we could get a rep for which ever side we choose. Like if we picked Federation (or rom allied with fed) or KDF (or rom allied with kdf), that we get a rep for that side. Fed rep would give stuff like Phaser weapons, and kdf would give Disruptor weps. As well as new consoles or set bonus's that give bonus to these type of weapons.

Maybe even a totally new kind of console that gives a bonus to a certain class of star ship, such as bonus dam or added hall for escorts, higher def or turn rate for cruisers, bonus aux for sci ships, bonus hanger pet dam for carriers, and extra time on bonus dam coming out of steath for raiders (like 2-3 extra secs, only 1 of this console aloud per ship). Now some of these already exists in game, but can add extra bonus's to these since they are only for 1 class of ship.

These are just some idea's, but it'll give each side and/or class of ship some more feeling for their roll.

Don't we have enough Rep Systems already? Gawd!

If anything, what we next need is a Cardassian Reputation System that combines Phasers with something (maybe Polaron?) along with a Cardassian Embassy, followed by a Cardassian Adventure zone and then onto a Cardassian Faction, but we're talking years away here.

If we could explore, chart new star systems, found colonies, form diplomatic ties with new alien species for trade and technology etc, and expand and change the map itself, that would make STO better.

I think by now, I'd only consider grinding a new rep for aesthetics only. There's enough gear, abilities and traits on offer from the others to have a choice in endgame setups and perform it quite comfortably.

And since every new rep seems to rip of some other science fiction franchise, I'd love one to have a full on Warhammer 40k look. Plenty of cool looks in that universe.

Technically, we already have cardassian Weapons.

    PvP-Rep would be something...very....interesting :D

the Spiral Wave Disruptors? I've used them before and they're good, but they're not available to anyone who doesn't own a Galor.

They would, but then only a small percentage of people would likely wish to acquire them. I don't think Cryptic would put that much effort in to a minor aspect of the game.

I think I'd rather see the man hours and money spent on new reps go into something else. Like a real exploration system. Did the first three reps on six toons. To say I am over the Rep system is an understatement.

Reputation should just be something that happens through natural gameplay. Don't get too hung up on them - they'll complete when they complete.

I do think we need to separate out Task Forces from Reputations. Reputations should be rewards for helping different races and giving you access to some of their stuff - New Romulus being a good example. Task Forces would be for fighting different enemies and giving you access to stuff that's better at killing them!

I'd quite like to see a Servitor Task Force added, but with a twist. Make it like the holdings we have at the moment where you have different tracks you complete. So you'd have one sub-track for fighting the Elachi, another for fighting the Solonae and so on.

I'd also like to see Ferengi, Cardassian and Deferi reputations added, alongside tracks for Federation and Klingon (that with the Romulan track are available depending on your faction).

The Rep system has a flaw - the Queue system. I'm surprised it hasn't happened already, where they've merged queues (while allowing private queuing to select favorite maps).

There wouldn't be ISE, CSE, KSE, HSE...there would be OSE...where one of the four would be selected at random for the group. There wouldn't be Breach and Storming, there would be one - etc, etc, etc. There would be fewer queues, folks could still private queue, and there would be room to add more content queues down the road without looking at the queues and hearing "there's too much PvE"...

Ya know, when I think of a reputation what I think of is someone being there and helping out for the long term. Spending lots of time in the area and doing all the little things which crop up from day to day the locals aren't quite equipped to handle. I also think Reputation shouldn't be based solely on a good body count. What about doing something for the locals besides beating the stuffing out of the Big Bad and then leaving? To do it all over again the next day. Even the Bad Guys can learn eventually. So how come this isn't ingame?

There used to be some things ingame where players went to a planet and dropped off replicators, weather control systems, etc. with the locals. A Captain loaded up on supplies and the like and then went patrolling to drop them off. Or the Away Team went down and investigated something. Where'd these go? The rewards for doing these little things were miniscule as I recall. And the tasks weren't nearly as sexay as holding off an entire Breen task force all by your lonesome. But there were quite a lot of them and they were fun for a change of pace.

I sometimes think this game has the wrong name. It really should be called Star Fleet Battles, with apologies to Dr. Stephen V. Cole and the whole Amarillo Design Bureau.

EDIT: And what would be wrong with actually having to go somewhere other than a port to fight? There are two whole support task forces stuck way out in the Gamma Orionis Sector which aren't used. Because people can join the fight against the Collective from the comfort of the Starbucks located just off the Promenade on Deck Four. Players who've been here longer than I have told me the game used to be this way. Kinda wish it would come back.

I have a really good ideals for dilitium projects... you know im tired to run these project 10 or 20 times in a row just to get 10k -20k dilitium (1k per project)...its simply tiresome. Insted we need 1 projekt that gives us 5000/10000 dilitium for 15/30 isomorphic injector (for Undine) for example.
Also if every and all store has some kind of Space Weaponary than let we get back the Antiborg Space Weapons as well for Omega Force Rep store...thats not so fair that we only get Antiborg Ground weapons.

Whoever read this please talk to the STO Team to fix these things first!!

well to be honest with you all, i personally think they should expand on certain things that are currently in the game.

i mean, when was the last time they upgraded the episodes?
DS9 was really cool, just for the episodes, but i havent been back there since, so i suggest cryptic do more episodes involving ds9.

the same goes for new romulus, only went there to level up my rep, now i have acheived level 5 there is no more need to go there, after all the time they spent designing thse great areas they should do something for the players to return to the world they created to keep the interest.

i for one am inclinded to agree with a post about a reputation system based on helping other species to be honest.
