Full Fluidic Assault vs Full Borg

neoatticusneoatticus Member Posts: 72 Arc User
So, I noticed that the Fluidic Assault is a 4 piece set. It appears to add 10% with defense, 5% to accuracy, Increased Turn rate, Inertia, and flight speed. It may be more, I'm not entirely sure.

So, my question is: has anyone tried both sets? How do they stack up against each other? Does the 4-piece set make taking Undine Rep all the way worth it?

If you have little heals, 2p borg with elite fleet res shields. Borg shield is a relic. Not worth it

If you have heals, keep moving. Then 2p undine with elite fleet res shields. Warp core is a bit of a toss up(3p is situational). Undine shield is garbage.
    Chive on and prosper, eh?

    +1

Only the 8472CC deflector and engine are worth while -- the rest of the space set is utterly forgettable. The warp core has no [Amp] modifier, and the shield has no significant stats worth mentioning.

The 4-piece 8472CC ordinance set is very good for phaser / disruptor builds. That 4-piece degenerative wave proc strips heal-over-time buffs and reduces all heal effects by 50% while present (10 sec duration).

Wow...that's a real shame. I don't know why they would make it strip all of the buffs and reduce healing effects. Its not even listed in the descriptions. Perhaps its a bug? Idk. It seems to make this whole set mostly irrelevant. Thanks for the heads up though!

Borg 3 piece bonus gives an automatic shield drain cleanse and heal. It's invaluable against borg. It may be old, but it's still good. Borg 3 piece bonus is actually better than the 2 piece bonus, the reason why ppl don't take advantage of it is the regenerative shield's low cap.

Plus, a duty officer or two can more than double the amount of shield drain. On tractor beam, and you can have fee shooting an an unprotected target. It is very much well worth the expense.
I completed a 2-man CSE, ISE, and KASE, Optionals included. And I soloed Winter Invasion.

Well, I think it really comes down to both being more commonly used as a 2pc set.

Undine set is great since it is more offensive orientated.

I will admit I love the way the borg shields make your ship look. I wish I could just make it LOOK like they are equipped but use elite fleet res type B.

The borg regen shields supposedly have higher # of HP overtime and would be better for general tanking, but suck against alpha strikes.
I use to do 100K DPS, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

Your Ramming Speed III deals 242658 (243540) Kinetic Damage (Critical) to you.

the 3pc is easily neglectable with 2pc+Elite Fleet shield. The shield itself is a huge hindrance and the Shieldheal of 3pc is rather laughable.

my hirogen I use 2 pc undine with elite fleet shields and elite fleet warp core... defense while moving is 102.5... it's very nice. But with borg STF's in my scimitar I'll use the full borg set because it suits it well for the STF's and it doesn't really have much for heals.

    I agree with these.

The 8472 Deflector & Engine do not make for a sturdy ship. However, they're offense oriented and if you feed a lot of power to Engine Subsystem, you'll get more out of the set, whether you use the Core or not. The Engines are Hyper-Impulse and they are top performers when you have good Engine Power. The Engines are more for speed (Hyper-Impulse) and avoidance (Bonus Defense), in the same way the Aegis Engines are with its stats and set bonuses. If you liked that from the Aegis set, you'll like that from the 8472 pieces. But 8472 is not suited for taking a pounding.

Hell, my KDF Tac is on a Risian Corvette right now and it screams along. With the Aegis Set, and I'm actually quite happy with performance. But I do know Aegis is only Mk X quality. I'm quite curious to see how it performs with 8472 Deflector & Engines or Omega Hyper-Impulse.
