Please put a status icon so we can watch for health like hangar pets, or just have them auto return when disabled, or give them a duration of say 5 minutes with a minute cooldown. I am good with their power just not their management. I think it would be so helpful and make them that much more useful.
I've said it before, but this is why the Bortasqu' / Oddessy should have a hangar slot, even if it's only for their unique pet. My guess is that the carrier interface is tied into the ship's design rather than being something which can be slotted in and out - so you'd have to redesign these ships to be carrier-cruisers. Not a bad thing IMO since it'd bring them in line with the Romulan Scimitar family and not penalise players for using a pet which is part of the ship's graphics. To avoid balance problems, the slot could be limited to either the Hoh'sus / Aquarius or a squadron of peregrines / to'duj.
I'd kind of hope to see such a balance pass on the flagships given their current profile in the FEs - but we'll see.
All combat pets should have a health meter similar to the fighter health meter ... even the Bortasqu BOP, the Aquarius, the saucer section on the Galaxy, or the multi-vector ships on the Prometheus.
It really ruins the tactical advantage of these pets if you don't realize they've been taken out during combat.
In the immortal words of Captain Sisko: "It may not be what you believe, but that doesn't make it wrong."
Don't believe the lies in this forum. I am NOT an ARC user. I play STO on Steam or not at all.
None of these are worth a slot anyway, with or without health monitoring. You're better off this way, since that makes one fewer incentive to gimp yourself with one of these consoles.;)

although i agree with this statement, i'd say that the chevron separation console for the oddy is the only reasonable console of them all.
but anyway, it should have some sort of interface for those pets. There is a lot of potential to implement something that may even allow you to activate the special abilities of those pets.
Imagine, the saucer of the galaxy class would actually be able to fire a beam overload on YOUR command or whatever.
Heh.. that'd be fun, micromanaging my pets as I do my boffs, only letting them put mines and turrets down where I direct them to (its great for capturing multiple artillery points, telling them to attack point x as you cap point y)
If I could tell my pets when to deploy faw and spreads...

This. Even if the bortasqu pet is really cool :P, its completely useless. That console slot is better with something else...
And i wish it was not the case, but any pet is more useful than this bop. Sadly.
Well I guess I am the type that likes cool more than effective. I mean I smile when I can time a dual disruptor autocannon attack. Yes, other consoles are better if you play that way, but I have access to fleet gear, finished all the reps, and do pretty well in the estfs that I enjoy doing, all with my very cool BoP. I just want better management of it.
If you read these boards enough, there are enough cookie cutters to make min/maxing simple and mundane to me. I have more fun doing something different which in this game usually means much less effective, again that is just what I enjoy.

I still want my health meter.
