Cannons get a huge penalty when fireing outside 2km...always be within 2km if you can...with those plasmas...you might hurt yourself
Just looked that up and am not sure why I thought AUX did something for torps. Anyone know if it effects the Grav Well Torps from the rep system? I thought it might somehow.
You bring up an interesting point with distance on cannons. I have heard that 'closer is better' before - but I always hear different distances. You say 2km but I've read posts from others that say 5km and even 6km. Im wondering why there is no mention of this that I can find on the STO wiki for single OR DHCs? You would think that would be an important factor worth mentioning on the wiki, but I did find mention of it with charts here: http://theenginescannaetakeit.wordpress.com/articles-3/weapon-ranges/ . Hmmm.
Any thoughts though on what I should grind for next based on my previous post? Im sure the info would be helpful to the OP as well. Cheers.
Not too sure where your rep actually is. Counter command deflector is the best dps booster. Elite fleet res shields are the best shields, 2p counter command is pretty nice if you keep moving

LOL - thanks. Just edited the last post with the same link at the same time. I like the recommendation. Not sure if I want to sacrifice my Remen Deflector yet though - seems to do wonders for my Grav Wells.

Crews are TRIBBLE but if you are concerned, tactical team and 2p adapted maco will fit the bill

The 2 piece adapted maco/khg (as stated previous) and 3 rare nurse doffs called Gasa. You can thank me later.

I'm returning back to this thread since it's been awesome help. Long story short, I slacked off from the game for a bit. I just finished the Romulan rep and have created the ZPEC console. I was going to start investing in some MkXI AP DHC's from the exchange (would cost me a small fortune). However, I totally forgot that there is the Voth AP DHC. Stat wise (and by STO wiki). The passive (30% crit with standard SP versus 25% Chance on Critical Hit: Reduce enemy's Damage Output by 9.1% for 10 sec on Voth DHC), would there be a huge difference if I went Voth instead of standard AP? I guess you can say that i'm working on consumer research before having buyer's regret.
I'm still in need to getting enough Omega marks for the Borg Deflector and MACO shield. Man, i'm working my butt off lol

Hey dahminus, i went back to look at the boff skills i need and the build doesnt have them anymore. Any recommendations? I am getting restless in having my scim sitting in dock and i am gonna go out there to blow stuff up no matter what!
So what would you do instead of running Boldly they rode 7 times for dominion polaron beam arrays?
I would grind EC and buy some Polaron mk xi [crtd]x[crth]x arrays off the exchange. They go for less than 300k ec, that is about an hour of farming for 7 arrays. Or just work on your Voth Rep, you will have a few of those Polaron arrays from the random reward boxes.

Protonic polaron is weak, though, especially for DPS parsing. I should know--I intentionally gimped my DHCmitard to 10k DPS in part by using those.
Dont forget about the Borg Advance episode chapter. You can repeat the Fluid Dynamics mission for the VR XI AP beam array, dual cannons or DBB. Of course the mission is relatively harder then the Sphere of Influence, but worth it imo. If you have a warp core ship you can still run the Sphere of Influence twice for the obelisk core and the 360 beam array for the 10% AP damage buff. Sucks for us rommies though since we dont have an equivalent to that set.

Running that mission 7 times is NOT "free". I would rather have my finger nails removed with a pliers...
