i am thinking about getting this for my KDF tac.

i am all up for it, but what drives the price so high? 1.2 million [just checked, and its 6.8 MILLION!!!] ? i know its a "different ship" and all, but still, its mirror, and now i dont have the funds for it, but i still wonder, whats a good build.

Rarity - not many listed last time I checked. Was looking at it for my KDF toon when it was listed for around 4.4 million EC

Greed - People want as much ECs as they can get. If it doesn't sell, then maybe, maybe it will get a small discount

Increasing EC Supply - In general, there is not many things worth spending a lot of ECs on in the game. In addition, there is virtually unlimited ECs in the game (unlike in the real world). If you somehow get 1,000 Mk XII Shield loot drops you can dump all at one vender for 50k each and you will get 50 million ECs. That is instantly created by the game and it does not come from player spending any money. !! POOF !! You are 50 mil richer and there is an extra 50 mil EC in the game economy.

Because people feel richer, they are less concerned with how much money they are paying, thus people selling things on the Exchange increases the price as a result of this.

    Jaguar forgot one other factor:

    It's a Klingon item.

Klingon stuff, be it ships, DOFFs, etc, it is always more expensive than non-Klingon, or universal items.

Fed DOFFs for example, tend to be about half price of a KDF DOFF that does the exact same thing. It varies of course, but that's a rough average I tend to notice.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Got one for these for each of my Klink toons the minute they hit the Exchange. More for having a complete set of Klink MU ships than for anything else. Took one out for a spin with my Sci toon and had a lot of fun in it.

New Fleet member joined us a couple of weeks ago and during his first time on Fleet Chat he expressed a desire for owning a MU Negh. Had enough EC and the price was lower than it is now so I purchased one for him. I think I spent about 4.5 mil EC or thereabouts.

If you want something like a MU Negh'var off the Exchange and you want it for a reasonable price, you pretty much have to haunt the Exchange for an extended period of time. By this I mean check about two or three times per hour. Someone will get one and not want or be able to use it and they will sell it for something less than the current rate. If you're there, you score.

If this fails, and you really want one that bad, please contact me ingame and I'll see what I can do to help. I am sure we can come to an arrangement which the both of us find agreeable. No, I am not going to make you mortgage your firstborn child to earn enough imaginary currency to pay for a pixelated representation of a fictional spaceship. :D

Why would I do such a thing for a complete stranger? Because three years ago a complete stranger did this exact thing for me. All I am doing here is paying a favor forward. Part of my price is you do the same thing for the next person when the opportunity presents itself.

UPDATE: Just went ingame and purchased one of the few listed. OP, please contact me via email ingame at your earliest convenience.

Right off the top of my head, there are only 2 other ship types at endgame that are Cruiser-Science hybrids for the KDF.

    Corsair

    Kamerang

    Mirror Negh'Var

Both Fleet Corsair & Kameran ships will cost 4 FSMs. As has already been mentioned, things tend to be pricier KDF side due to the supply. It also doesn't help the price that the Mirror Negh'Var is one of the best Mirror Ships, period. The Mirror Heavy Cruiser which the Mirror Negh'Var is the counterpart to, is acknowledged as a very capable ship. The Mirror Negh'Var is simply a better turning, tougher Battlecruiser with a built-in cloak. It's that good. But I don't know about that price mentioned though. That's steep.

Mine's in mothballs right now, but here's the basic idea. It's a simple, el cheapo build that's fun to fly. Skill tree is a bit off-kilter for it, but that's because I got it to tide myself over until I could get a Tor'Kaht.

Most important trick (I think) is using your LTC sci for GW1. It's still a Negh, so while it's faster to turn than the Bortasqu' it still won't turn on a dime. But it doesn't have to turn to keep its DHCs on target if the target can't move. :D I found it to work amazingly well as a probe goalie in KASE.

That falls under "rarity". Because there are less KDF players, there are fewer items listed on the exchange.

If the number of active KDF toon suddenly increases by 10x, then more KDF faction items would be listed on the exchange, thus driving down prices.

Would like to get this for my KDF toon as well when / if it gets down to a decent enough price. It would be a nice change of pace from flying BoPs exclusively. I am particularly interested in it because of the Lt. Cmdr science station even though my KDF toon is tactical.

I have one. I don't think the price will ever fall much because it is one of the best mirror ships, as said... functionality & looks makes for a high price.

Tac might do better with the Mirror Somraw, which is probably much cheaper. I haven't checked for prices on the Somraw lately.

    I must thank Cha@thunderfoot1007.

He traded/mailed me for the tub, AND all he said was "send me something back, whatever and whenever is at your discretion and you must pass on The favor." I must thank you. I think the sto community needs more people like you.

What I did isn't all that big a deal. You wanted something ingame which I could get and you could not currently. Seemed like the right thing to do at the time. Like I posted previously, someone did this for me a long time ago and all I am really doing here is paying a favor forward. I am gratified I could help you enjoy STO more. I benefit from this transaction by making a few new friends. Which is always a good thing IMO.

Enjoy the ship. I know I do. :D

I just picked one up recently for a Tac. Definitely cheaper. Mirror Neg'Var IMO is more appropriate for an eng anyway.

Me too! I was on the Fed side and found this for $150K. I quickly signed off and jump on the KDF side and found out it was gone/sold. Feds Mirror ships prices dropped as slow as 50K daily it jump around in prices too. Rom side about the same as Fed Mirror pricing but KDF cost a lot more on certain items. Try to start early in the morning. Good hunting!

Yeah, the Voth lockbox has a mirror Negh'var in it. Not bad, it's more science oriented in the Boff layout.

I haven't used a Mirror Negh'var but look very great. Currently my KDF SCI flys the Kamarag Retrofit from last years anivarsary though and that has the same BOFF layout. Would enjoy moving to Mirror Negh'var for the looks and it swaps the 4th Eng console slot for a 3rd Sci console slot as he biggest difference that I can currently think of.

Comes from the Voth lockbox. It's got the boff layout of the T5 Kamarag but Negh'Var stats and a 3/3/3 console layout. It's an incredibly fun ship to fly.

I like to use it with the Qu'Daj neck, mission pod, and nacelles.

My Klink had a lot of fun with the Mirror Vor'cha. The Mirror Negh'var is as enjoyable as the Mogh IMO. Found a Mirror Mogai on the Exchange for reasonable and thought, "Why not?" Hadn't had much success with the previous Rom Mirror ships but was willing to give this one a try.

    I am glad I did.

Got it all kitted out as a Drain Boat and the Boff slots allow for Grav Well. It is a little squishier than the Mogai Refit. Purchasing the C-Store Valdore allowed me to adjust the visuals to make it a very attractive and distinctive ship. The Mirror Mogai cannot use both the Valdore Consoles, so the Set Bonus for them is not available. But all the other RomRep toys more than make up for this. Been playing a lot of CCE lately and just finished 3d, 2d, and then 1st in that order. I was surprised I did so well in what I consider my Rom's second best ship.

The Mirror Universe Negh'Var Heavy Battle Cruiser is my favourite ship in the game.
It has a very good BOFF layout that makes the ship able to tank and dish out some [dmg]. Additionally the Lt.Cmdr Science leaves some space for experimenting = fun.

With a turnrate of 9 this ship is almost perfect for my playstyle and its console Layout is very balanced.

The best thing about it are the availlable ship parts. Negh'Var + Qu'Daj class make some really cool looking combinations IMO.

It's a shame that it is a KDF vessel, lol.

For my Tactical KDF toon I bought the following MU ships from the Exchange:

    1. Qin Heavy Raptor - Slowly kitting it out as I am working on the Rom Rep; took a break for a while.

    2. Somraw Raptor - Still in the box. More science oriented I think, but got it for around 800k EC. Current value is at around 1.3 million EC I think.

    3. Vor'cha Battlecruiser - Still in the box. Not really meant for Tac toons, but what the hell.... It was pretty cheap too; around 600k EC when I bought it. Mostly for engineers.

    4. Negh'var Battlecruiser - Still in the box. Bought it for 4 million ECs. Should have bought other two listed for 4 million ECs as well (total 12 million EC) over the weekend. I think the least expensive I saw yesterday was 9 million, but I could be wrong. More of a ship for engineers, than Tac toons, but it would be a nice change of pace compared to flying a squishy T5 Hegh'ta Heavy BoP all the time. Still has two stations for Tac Boffs at least. The Lt Cmdr science station at least gives me an option to drop GW1 for simple crowd control.
