    I resent this thread!

    I pet my fighters, I sing them songs, I feed them dilithium and deuterium and I tuck them into bed at night.

    On sunny days we chase each other through asteroid fields frolicking together as we blast Fed toadies into tiny bits.

    My fighters are as close to me as any member of my family and you sir are an ignorant technophobe.

    You're ignoring the fact that words can have more than one meaning. "Pet" indeed has a different meaning in games.
