Hi all I would like some advice on what gear to go for on my Tactical Escort, I have created my setup on STOA http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/?build=mk2tec_0.

I am working on reputation at the moment I am on tier 3 for most reps. Is there on in particular I should be working on? I do have access to a good Fleet Starbase with Advanced Gear too.

Any advice would be great thank you.

Do you just have common Weapons and consoles? not rare or very rare?

I would suggest that you switch to rare or better very rare Antiproton DHC and get Fleet Spire Tactical consoles (Vulnerability Locator)together with the Obelisk Wap Core and the Omni Directional Beam Bank from replaying "Sphere of Influence" for additional Damage Bonus. If the cloak is useful depends on yuor playstyle because it is not a battle cloak but for the other Engineering consoles i also recommend fleet equipment. The Dyson Reputation offers some interesting science consoles.

5x vulnerability locators before anything else.

You're build looks pretty good so far, actually. The Tacscort really is a pure damage powerhouse, and it seems you're on the right track.

Weapons wise, the Elachi DHCs are good for plain damage, as their proc is focused around damage, so I'd keep those. (Though, if you can, obtain the Elachi Heavy Crescent Cannon and Bio-Neural Infusion Circuits from the Lobi store for the increased Disruptor damage.)

As far as turrets go, the Elachi ones aren't a waste, but you may be better off using a different Disruptor type, as the Elachi proc is focused on damage, and turrets aren't known for their damage. I'd suggest Nanite Disruptor Turrets for the increased shield bleed to synergize with the shield-bypassing Elachi DHCs. Other types, such as Polarized Disruptor and just plain Disruptor can work as well.

Mainly because Disruptor has such a wide variety of procs with that Damage Type, and so one really can get a whole mess of different ones going.

As for equipment, try and work towards a Reputation Set if possible, most of them are pretty good and they all provide great multi-piece bonuses. The Borg set (of which you have the deflector) is fairly good on Escorts with it's automatic heals.

A Dilithium Mine warp core with [AMP] is also a must, if you're going for damage.

As for consoles, loose the Plasma Distribution Manifold. It doesn't provide enough power for it to be viable, and an armor console (Preferably Fleet Neutronium with [+Turn]) would serve you better.

Cloak is okay if it fits your playstyle, but could be replaced with the Bio-Neural Infusion Circuits if you ever get it. Or a universal console.

Shield Emitter Amplifier is okay, but not great. Could stay, or be replaced with the Zero-Point Conduit (Or any other Rep Console, for that matter) for added Critical Chance.

Tac consoles, you've got it. The only upgrade from here would be Fleet Vulnerability Locators/Exploiters, as stated above.

Skill wise, is good, however there are a few things...

Loose the second Cannon Rapid Fire 1, you can only rotate two canon skills at once, making the third of the same type redundant. Cannon: Scatter Volley can be put there instead for a specialized AoE attack.

Same for the three Tactical Teams, though this is where you fall to the "Third Useless Ensign Syndrome". There isn't much else you can put there, though if you replace one forward weapon with an Elachi Dual Beam Bank, and replace the third Tactical Team with Beam: Overload, it would solve your problem. As well as add some spike damage.

Engineering and Science skills are good.

Made a few changes, though I don't expect you to be able to meet this level, not yet. Do note, it is general and can work modified and such.

Go with phasers or anti protons along with quantums.
