Admiral Stone reappeared in front of the ready room doors and sighed, smiling at his crew.
"That went exactly as I hoped," he said.
"Indeed," Acting-Captain Selvok said, with a raised eyebrow. "It is fortunate that you are not an NPC, otherwise you would be dead, Admiral."
"Exactly," Sam said. "And because I play on Easy Mode, I don't even have to worry about respawning wounded."
Sam sat down in the captain's chair. "Helm... Lay in a course for K7. Maximum warp."
The helmsman slowly turned around to face Admiral Stone and fixed him with a confused expression.
"Something on your mind Commander?" Stone asked.
"Permission to speak freely, Admiral?" the Helmsman asked.
"Go ahead," Sam said.
"You've been an Admiral for nearly three years, sir. I would think you know by now that we cannot navigate from the bridge!"
The entire bridge erupts in laughter, except for Selvok, who merely raised an eyebrow and nodded. Admiral Stone grinned sheepishly and pressed the "Return to Sector Space" button.
Realistically, the only faction currently in-game that might survive a toe-to-toe fight with the Iconians is the Voth. I can picture the two races slugging it out in gigantic city-ships while we dodge around like fighters going for weak spots. That would be really awesome to see.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

You have no faith in the Tholian or Undine when it comes to battling the Iconian?

The Undine, maybe. They're powerful, but they only really fight in self-defense. And I kind of doubt they'd bother intervening in the conflict until both sides had decimated themselves.
The Tholians, no. They may be salvaging future tech, but they don't seem to care much about integrating it into their ships.
