I suppose this is fairly relevant because of its some what sci fi basis. But let me tell you what, this show has everything I thrive on: deception, manipulation, allusions and delusions of Godhood, villainous old sophisticated people, plot twists, quirky main characters... shall I go on? I don't know how many out there watch it so I won't say too much about its killer season finale.
Do note I said "Currently on TV." I, like many people on these threads, still give first place to ST for all time best show.

"I rather believe that time is a companion who goes with us on the journey and reminds us to cherish every moment because it will never come again."- Jean-Luc Picard
I watched it for a while last year...at that time, I considered it more of a "guilty pleasure" show, and eventually dropped it, but I gather it's improved since then. I might have to check it out.
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
Don't get me wrong, I love the show. Genuinely well-plotted and written most of the time and the gambit pileups that tend to happen are fun to watch. I just think it's annoying that present-day post-cyberpunk stuff like this is about as sci-fi as the major networks are willing to get these days. (Yes, I know that's because it's cheaper than space opera.)
Oh well. Also working my way through season 2 of Babylon 5 right now.

I watch it faithfully, though after the surprise murder this year, I was angrily tempted to give it up in protest. I thought they'd jumped the shark with that move. I'm still not happy about it, nor that Root is such a major player now. I like the actress, but the character is too much. Its like they forgot somewhere along the line that she is a psychopathic serial killer, and now want her to be a herald of justice. Sorry, but she's still a psychopathic killer. At least Shaw and Reese killed in the line of duty, and Lionel has expressed multiple times that he was trapped by his former associates and deeply regrets his past.
Sorry, both that surprise murder and Root really get on my nerves. But I'm probably one of the fewer viewers that like Shaw. That whole episode explaining her origin and why her emotions are so dialed down really made me like the character.
Bear is so under-used nowadays.
That Decima creep might be next to jump on my nerve. It seems his near-omniscience, which was present before Samaritan, is more plot-driven than fueled by an organization.
Is it just me, or are Root's trio of hacker buddies shaping up to be the Lone Gunmen of this series?
Speculation: if you can't beat them, join them. We've heard that Samaritan has at least 100 huge sites loaded with mainframes, impossible for a guerrilla squad to take down, before it can be rebuilt. So...why not arrange for the Machine to infiltrate and absorb Samaritan? Then it can turn the tables on Decima.
My list has some overlap, Felix. I use the internet to view, but I follow Falling Skies, Arrow, and Agents of Shield, and of course Person of Interest. I also watch Warehouse 13 (series now ending), Continuum, and am also terribly excited about The Flash. I doubt Gotham will be done as sci-fi, but I'm going to watch it, and suppose I should include it as a fantasy-type.
More on-topic, I've noticed PoI has been shifting more into the sci-fi realm of late. It used to be more like an espionage thriller.
Person of Interest
Continuum
Arrow
Agents of SHIELD
are probably some of the best I am watching currenlty. Oh, and of course Game of Thrones.
Favorite cooking show: Hannibal.
Regarding Person of Interest:
I have heard that some people feel that the main characters (Reese and Finch) have been sidelined a bit, and I cannot entirely disagree - Root (or Ruth?) has gone more in focus, and Shaw also gets a lot of attention. And I kinda want to see them more in focus, too.
But the way I see it - Root may be a psychopath, but she is also a believer - her god being the machine. The machine gives her a purpose and directs her.
I think her main role is actually to represent the machine, showing that it's actively doing something, not just giving out numbers, but manipulating or planning, without making the machine a character we can directly interact with - ultimately, speaking computers have been done in Science Fiction before (a lot), and I think this indirect measure of communication is there way to show that this is an AI - not a human with a monotone voice. It is an entirely different class of being, alien.
Of course, they kept everything on the "Social Security Number Level"; but this would also be too indirect.
The threat of Samaritan will be interesting. I certainly want to know how this will work out.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
*STO*Its mission: To destroy strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations... and then kill them, to boldly annihilate what no one has annihilated before!
There is nothing better than watching people on the internet meet and be bitterly disappointed that the other person is not as hot as they said they were.

I am thoroughly pleased with everything they did this season. Yes, most people were upset by Carter's demise, but I agree with the writers that it was her time to go. And it touched on Reese's emotions, something we typically don't see. I really like Greer. He is like a Palpatine, with the whole Vigilance ordeal (beautiful). As for the near-omniscience, it seems that he, like Finch, is very resourceful. Root is crazy, but she kills as necessary. Her growth into the infrastructure is helping to drive the show into great heights. Machine absorb Samaritan? That to me is a bit odd. And I don't think thay could get the Machine to do it, because it is a closed system. I love the whole War between Gods thing. It seems a bit deprecating to Christianity, but it still is wonderful. Somehow I think that the Machine will call the group back together and strike a blow against Samaritan. Though the 1984ish feel of the Finale did scare me a bit.
Just my personal thoughts.

I have to admit I know nothing about POI. Except I know that the bad guy from Lost and the guy that played Jesus is in it.
I may check it out. I need to see if its on Amazon Prime. I watch Continuum but I don't feel in love with the show. But I can't express how exited I am for Flash and future tv potential for more heroes. If Flash does as well as Arrow we may be seeing another Justice League member soon. Since Star Labs is getting name dropped more on Arrow and it is taking a front seat in Flash, my bets are on a Cyborg spin off some day.
He is like a Palpatine, with the whole Vigilance ordeal (beautiful).
On that we agree. I just wish it was a bit more obvious before the season finale that someone was pulling Peter's strings. Tease it out a bit. Regardless, it was a great move by Desima.

Despite my curmudgeoning, it is a good show, likely a great show, and I do recommend seeing it from the beginning, since it has broad-reaching story arcs. Just go into it with one crucial bit of information that a lot of fans like me didn't have: every character is vulnerable, by the producers' choice and statement, and can be removed from the show at any time. Unexpectedly. The ensemble cast has been growing mostly, but knowing now what was said, I do think one or more characters may fall or be otherwise removed in the next year.
Cyborg, eh? He already had a series. I watched it as a kid. He cost six million dollars to make.
Unlike Marvel, DC is apparently not tying their TV universe entirely together. Probably because there are different networks involved. Arrow and Flash on the CW, and Gotham on Fox. I suppose now that on CW they have an event that creates meta-humans, they can have pretty much anyone from their comics show up. Several fans have wanted Nightwing, though I'm not sure they'd want a potential conflict with Gotham. I for one, am hoping for The Question. Rumor had it, a few months back, that he'd be appearing on Arrow.

last time i watched person of interest was early this year, i havent had the chance to catch up just yet like ncis, at some point i will. jar jar's own product without ip limitations, and see what he can do. he does PoI far, far more superior then anything trek and i suspect anything sw.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
so i managed to set aside a few hours to catch up on some light viewing of almost a season of PoI season 3, too bad for collier, i liked his luckless character and his attempt to come out the other side only to be the pawn in some greater plan. finch's secrets come out over the season, death of carter (big blow to the series imo), but the "root" character really picked up that missing place on the team and adopted to it well, if michael emerson failed to get his contract in place one day, i can easily see amy acker taking over the lead role, lot of potential there to lead the onscreen team.
i wonder what happens in season 4 because of samaritan. still, too bad for hersh. and im still wondering where elias comes back into it, same with scarface.

and im still wondering where elias comes back into it,
I'm all for Elias coming back into this at some point. His vengeance for Carter was surprising and, dare I say it, welcomed. A godfather with something of a conscience. He is easily the most interesting guest character on the show, IMHO. I consider chess a learning game, especially in the defeats. I'd love to lose a game to him.
a quality to the man who just notices who his allies and whom his enemies are even if his allies are not exactly brimming with confidence about it. i always wondered what the reactions of finch, reece and fusco would of looked like when they found out elias killed that blowhard in a debt payment to carter, quite a kind gesture to her memory and elias spelled it out exactly.
if it came to it and i had an enemy to choose, elias would be it. fair, dont put on any grandiose emotions and such and allows the other side to have their moment as well. im rubbish at these chess and poker games myself, but still, to play against someone like elias despite his background, hell he would be an entertaining opponent.

Elias might be out of scope for the big thread Samaritan presents - but maybe he's not. He could be a useful ally for sure. But maybe that is not the way they'll go?
The show has been pretty good about at keeping some of the threats and groupings independent of each other, with sometimes convering, sometimes orthogonal interests.

I never really bothered with PoI. i assumed it was just another detective/cop/missing person type show that seems to be a dime a dozen, but looking into it further it seems quite cool.

Almost Human was cool. I really enjoyed that show and ticked off it was canceled. Killed before its prime.
I enjoy The 100. I was afraid it was going to stupid because its the CW, with teens... but I am pleased it feels very adult in its action and stuff.
I just started on Resurrection. I've seen the first two episodes and I am really into it.
I love Falling Skies.
But my top three shows on tv are Hannibal, Arrow, and Agents of Shield.
And after watching the 5 minute preview of The Flash, the little kid in me couldn't be more excited.
