All you need is a lt.cmdr. Engineer with EptW3 and the rest are Tactical BOs for SRO :D

P.S.: On second thought I am not even sure myself if that is trolling or a nice idea (flying a BoP as an escort, and well, if you take fire, it doesnt matter if you have a HE or not)^^

Yeah its a common mistake people see EPW3 and then after closely looking at it... It's a waste of a LC spot to even try to use. Although my setups for b'rel torp/mine mode are mostly heavy tactical and then science one is heavy on confuses so the enemy either dies from being blind or dies with mass frustration... and then enemy AI just is too dumb to contend with it.

Myself with the engineering I'd use two maint eng doffs to get an ET1 on 15 second cool downs and use aux2dampeners to lessen the damage taken with that nice doff that adds extra damage resist. Then use polarize hull and HE2 for science although my setups use mines because your torpedeos front are for wait around 3 seconds then get out and use shearing and the other one for omega kinetic damage so that you are still doing damage even after you have turned away to keep up with beams and cannons.

Would be cool though and more fun with brel using it chang style like this if HY's and TS's were not shared globally.

Edit: Although even though I wouldn't agree with that heavy engineering build some of the consoles were a good change to my existing one like the kinetic damaging universals I actually had them but wasn't using one of them and had some piled away in storage lol. Is explosive though if use Dispersal Mine Pattern Beta 2&3 and HY 2 and 3 tho imo and just get enough heals and damage resist to keep you alive which you don't need much tbh.

Trolling is something you do to get reactions out of people. Maybe you meant 'tricking'?

Well, I would fly it as an escort with DHCs. A friend has one is scores quite good. I can understand, why one would fly it as a Torpboat, but in the end of the day a well setup DHC-BoP outperfomes it, same for the TVaro. Its a nice concept, but unfortunately not necessary the best.

My eng flies a Fleet Norgh.

    Tac Commander: TT1, TS2, CRF2, APB3
    Eng Lt. Commander: EPtS1, Aux2Batt1, EPtW3
    Eng Lt. Commander: ET1, Aux2Batt1, RSP2
    Sci LT: PH1, HE2

Set it up as the little gunboat that could. DHCs and the quad cannons with a photorp launcher up front, a turret and KCB in the back.

The eng captain abilities make it a lot more survivable than a BoP has any business being. Plus RSP is a good OH SHI- button.

Kinda wish the Norgh had a 10th console though, but even if it doesn't it still rocks in eSTFs, it looks good and is fun to fly. And really, isn't that the true spirit of Christmas?

I heard that trying to fly a BoP like an Escort is suicide, and that you need to be stealthier. How do you get yours to work?

"Would fly" ;) Though a fleet mate of mine uses his Nogh as such an escort, since S6 or 7 i think. Obviously with a lt.cmd Sci&Eng, and EptS3. He has trained much with it so he is accostumed to it and can hold aggro for a while, but he is not too rigid to bail if its too much.
He nicknamed it "the Oli Kahn-BoP" after former German Goalkeeper Oliver Kahn, who -one of his memorable quotes- said after a Game: "Guts. We need guts". I think thats pretty much what a DHC-BoP is^^

Apart from the occasional one-shot, flying something like a Norgh - with it's sexy Com, Lt. Com, Lt. Com, Lt. lay-out - is perfectly viable. Loaded up with +speed and +turn, you'll be able to out-maneauver just about anything, making sure you stay on their aft and get that tasty Flanking bonus.

I've actually been having a lot of fun in PvP with my (lol) Aux2Bat Norgh loaded up with Particle Generator consoles. Tractor Beam Repulsor (with pull doff) does a nifty amount of damage straight to the hull, and is - weirdly - affected by Flanking too.

Running it like this right now:

    1) PH1/HE2/ST3/TBR3
    2) TT1/CRF1/Omega1
    3) EptE1/Aux2bat/RSP2 (doffed)
    4) EptS1/Aux2bat/(EWP1)

I can switch the engy boffs around if I'm not having much trouble with incoming fire. EWP is a great zone-denial combined with Aux2Bat.

Nah, I mean my friend rambos in without cloaking or worrying about flanking, as Escorts do not have flanking nor cloak(except Tac Escorts)

I wouldn't consider taking advantage of flanking Escort-style play because Escorts get no bonus from it. I'm honestly not sure what you meant by "playing like an Escort". D=

You can flank with reverse-TBR, eh? How does it work? Do you have to be behind them when it's initiated?
