Endgame ship help!

Hello! Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section.

I've been using the search function to look at some people's sets but I thought it better I just went ahead and asked a question! I've been out of the game for 5 or 6 months so I'm really lost on what to do, so a point or kick in the right direction would be helpful.

My science captain is 50 and I'm currently in a Jem'Hadar Attack ship with a mesh mash of exchange/mission pieces. I do pretty well in PVE to the point I can tank things and keep myself and others healed decently.

But I'm wondering what other options do I have? Or should I say, what would be better? I have the Vesta pack but it's still unpacked. I don't even know where to start with that. I have about 3k zen. I definitely LOVE escorts and high DPS but I do love my science abilities and feel that I need a sciencey ship. Or maybe there's a middle ground?

My play style is probably terrible but I had always tend to build my ships with a tact setup >.< Sets and advice welcome. Thank you!

One easy thing you can do immediately is run the new Dyson Sphere series of missions, specifically Sphere Of Influence, A Step Between Stars, and Surface Tension. Sphere Of Influence rewards a warp core and antiproton beam-turret that combine for a big boost to AP damage. A Step Between Stars rewards 3 of the Solanae set pieces (4th was limited time only, lobi store only now and not worth the price), which are on par with some of the reputation gear and a good all-around set despite being free. And Surface Tension wraps up the Fed-Klingon war and rewards pieces of the new 8472 rep sets, and gets you up to speed on the current story stuff. Plus they're just in general a pretty good set of missions.

well, if you want something sciency and escort like... only two ships fit the bill, Vesta and the dyson destroyers.

you got the vesta already, however, play the episode "A step between Stars" several times to see if you like the ship, and if you like it more than the vesta, the dyson destroyers can switch between Sci commander and Tac Coimmander with but a power toggle, and while in tac mode, the dyson destroyers can bring more forward firepower than the vesta.

The Vesta can definitely be built as a sciscort. Since you have the pack, go for the Recon version with the 4 tactical console slots and run a tac officer in your LTC universal boff slot. I always run mine with 3xAux cannons forward and elite scorpions in the hanger bay. Really nasty.

I've never played around with the Dyson ships beyond that one Tuvok mission. The Fed Dyson ship is so ugly it hurts my eyes. Go Vesta!

You might want to check out that new Patrol Escort Refit. It's the escort of escorts, it looks great and granted it only has 2 sci.console slots, but you can run Lt.Cmdr and Lt. Science on that one, so that might be the escort/science mix you're looking for.

Having the dysons I can tell you taht looks arent everything


might be ugly, but with the ability to slot 4 forward cannons in tac mode, have CSV 3 and TS3 (for if you want to have 3 cannons and a torp) they are really deadly.... in sci mode hit GW 3 on your target, switch to tac mode, unload a TS3 and CSV 3 on your now bunched up enemies... and with the gravmetric torp from the voth rep.... thats one deadly Torp spread if some of those torps proc. Can clear lots of stuff quiet quickly.

In my OP, AVOID THE SOVEREIGN. For some reason, it has a tendency to die very quickly. Which gets very frustrating during PvEs.

For a good end game ship, If you want something that can take an obscene amount of damage, go for the galaxy X dreadnought if you dont mind paying for Zen. I hear there is a fleet version for one.

Thanks everyone! I'm currently running through the new missions and I might go with one of the Dyson ships because I enjoyed flying it during the mission.
