Weapon layout for a Fleet Tor'khat

I have a Fleet Tor'khat in space dock. I'm slowly filling in the slots. My plan is to fit it with three regular dual disruptor canons and a photon torpedo up front and three disruptor turrets and a photon torpedo in the rear. This way, frontally, I can bring the regular dual disruptors and the three disruptor turrets as well as the front photon torpedo tube to bear on an enemy target.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance for any feedback you might have.

Other than rear torp, its cookie cutter escort setup. What's there to think about?;)

    Boring.

    Boring!

    Front weapons 4x AP DBB
Aft Weapons 3x AP Arrays, 360 AP Array
Backup weapon: 1x Hargh'Peng (to replace a DBB in Voth content or any content with aceton assimilators)
    Gear: Solanae set, Obelisk Core

    Consoles
Eng: 1x Plasmonic, 3x neutronium of your choice
Sci: 2x field generators or shield refrequencers
Tac: 4x AP+ of your choice

    Powers:

    LCM Tac: TT1, FAW2, APB2
    LT Tac: FAW1, APB1
    CM Eng: EPTE1, EPTS2, EPTW3, DEM3
    Ens Eng: ET1
    LT Universal: HE1, ST2

    Doffs: No required doffs

Other than the plasmonic leech, all the gear can be freely farmed in game content. Most have a higher grade fleet equivalent if you feel that "free" is too cheap for your ship.

    How are you using APB3?

So much fail in one fit.:D

Just go with a2b beam array build.

Well, first off, you want dual heavy cannons, not dual cannons. They get a boost to criticals over DCs.

This is my Tor'Kaht build, although I haven't actually decided what type of disruptor I'm using (I've got plasma-disruptor hybrid DHCs and plain disruptor turrets equipped right now, because they were free). I can make it dance well enough to dogfight in PVE, and refitting for PVP is mostly a matter of switching out CSV1 for CRF1.

My policy is I save DBB fits for ships with overloaded frontal weapon loadouts...ie; the Mogh. 4-4 cruisers make better cannon and beam ships since as a cannon boat you can actually make use of the rear weapon slots in terms of loading more turrets and beams are self explanitory as broadsiders.

That said, the Tac Bortas is a superior broadsider to the Tor'khat so I go cannons on this thing. It may be cookie cutter escort build but you're more durable than an escort, have cruiser commands and still manuverable enough to get the job done with a reasonable loadout. It's a fun ship to fly.

Of course, if lacking a Bortasqu, it would make a very fine beam boat as well and since we can save two loadouts at a time...I'd suggest making both a cannon and beam loadout and switch between the two as both boredom and situation dictate.

I use beam arrays on my Tor'Kaht, and DBBs on my Kamarag. There are too many zippy fast ships in PVP to use DHCs on a ship with 10 base turn.

Aye, I don't PVP in my Torkie...valid point. PVE, cannon Torkie works fine :)

10.5. And cruiser command adds another 3. All that's before the 4 rcs that you can add. It's no escort, but definitely viable for dhc, even in pvp.
