Rep phasers should have the appropriate canon colour. There's absolutely no reason to make them look like disruptors. We already have disruptors, elite fleet disruptors, nanite disruptors, polarized disruptors and now biomolecular disruptors that should be enough green.
You forgot to mention Plasma weapons of all kind that are green too.
Since we are whining - not that I don't agree about green phasers -
My bigger issue is that there is no BLUE dual phaser banks so if you want the classic Blue phasers you have to use organge or now green in front.
Please, please please add an option for Classis Blue Dual Phaser Banks
The connie (and the FE reward) have a phaser array that essentially looks like firing "dual".
For real blue phaser dual beams: Andorian escort. Unlocks the ability to buy blue phasers of all kinds.
Ultimatly I agree: The only reason to use phaser is the canon look and feel. And for certain ships (Kumari, GX, Vesta, veteran ship) to effect the build in weapons.
Other then that: I'd use green weapons. But I use the weapons that are green anyway, namely plasma and disruptor.
I see no point in green phasers.
And about the photons: I use those against undine only. I don't like them to be green too. But after all: They at least have a really really cool sound effect...
Well, it's one way to resolve complaints about Rainbow Beam Boats, I guess

Classic phasers are black and white :P Blue's i believe are remastered
Green phasers...whats next purple photons with sparkle's ?......What if they made phasers with a real damage boost like anti protons !
In Orange
Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng
JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse
I must admit, no Starfleet vessel of mine will use them.
My main will, even though I'm not overly happy with the green overkill. He's a former KDF exchange officer who stuck with the Federation when the Khitomer accords were dissolved and his chief engineer is a liberated Borg so he's allowed to trick out his ship a bit. And at least the graviton torpedo launcher will give him one reddish weapon.
My Galaxy-X full of liberated Borg will probably only use the torpedoes and universal console and the Andorian escort will take torpedoes and tac console so they get the set bonus. Otherwise only my Romulans and Klingons are interested in the disruptor part of the set.
Why would you use biomolecular phasers on a S'golth? You could use both disruptor sets to boost that damage type through the roof, and doesn't the special console attack of the S'golth improve with disruptor damage too?

or even a chimera, since the OP's title is Career Veteran, it is quiet possible.
but now we got 4 distinctive color phasers, not including hybrids.
the TOS blue, the Andorian blue (does look different than TOS), standard, and now green. so yes, its quiet possible to have a single energy type skittle boat of phasers.
Unfortunate it got confirmed, both heavy phaser and heavy disruptor turret fire 'disruptor green'.
Cryptic please give us a similar option like we have on the shields, deflectors and engines to disable visuals, with active visuals they fire green with deactivated visuals they fire orange.

whats wrong with that? it makes sense to me, that modified weaponry wouldnt be the standard color.
If we want to use green weapons, we've got all manner of Distrupter and Plasma to choose from and now even green Phasers.
If we want orange Phasers, we've got stock Phasers and Fleet gear.
That's it. As far as I know, all of the special Phaser types are anything but orange.
Is it really so bad to want to get a special type of my favourite weapon that actually looks like the show?
I'm not really a fan of the green phasers. In the past, alternate/modified weapon types usually kept the base type's color, but had a slight tweak to the beam/bolt's animation or a different trailing particle. (i.e. compare polaron to phased polaron; same color, but where polaron is a jagged lightning like beam, phased polaron is solid/smooth like a simple line or cylinder).
Suggestion: have Bio-Molecular Phasers primary color be phaser orange, but with greenish highlights or particles that accompany the beams/bolts.

I agree. Not a lot of real orange phasers. I already have fleet weapons.
Phasers of different colors DO exist in canon. This game is also set about 35 years after that voyager ep, so things could change. Starfleet could have said "Change the color of the bio-molecular phaser beams so officers don't get them confused with a normal one"
"What color sir?"
"Well the torpedos are green. Go with that."
"Won't people get confused with plasma and some kinds of disrupters?"
"We're Starfleet! We don't use plasma or disrupters!"
IF you want a CANON argument, there you go. Stick anything else on your ship and you're outside canon. So a green phaser is not an issue if you can go get poloron, Anti-proton, Proton, Tetrion and all the mashup hybrids and one off designs and carry them around. Same with the KDF and Roms, they have their standard issues kit, and this is something mostly brand new.
Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.
What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!
(paraphrased from "The Newsroom)
All the other hybrid weapons at least kept a similar color to each other, but the jump from orange too green is a bit too much. It is also like that green is the only color they like, several green typs of disruptors and green plasma weapons.

The canon argument is - modified bio-molecular phasers during Scorpion and In the Flesh fired 'phaser orange'. They could have made bio-molecular phasers orange with a green 'polaron' animation. There are a great deal of things they could have done to keep Bio-Molecular phasers "Feeling" like phasers. If I wanted to fire disruptors, I'd have disruptors equipped.
The non-canon argument is - several Federation ships have hardwired special phasers. The Spinal Lance, the Lotus, the Quantum Phaser, the Defiant's quad cannons. For those of us who view our ship as our character - it 'looking right' is more important then the full out effect, and it's pretty lame that the first really special phasers in the game look like disruptors.

This would be a great option. It doesn't conflict too much and allows people who want a faithful cannon ship to turn off effects so that they can still have the benefits of improved equipment.
For me phasers have always been orange.
But for the love of all things sensible, do not allow the option to choose a colour!
Out of curiosity, has cryptic ever changed something like this because people wanted it?

There was an accident where they left in a color selection command from Champs. In general, CBS signs off on weapon colors. A best case for people unhappy would probably be if Cryptic adjusted the look and had CBS sign off on the change.
Cryptic isn't going to want it to look like normal phasers but they might be able to do a compromise if demand is there, if they have time, and if CBS could sign off on a revised look after having signed off on this one already.

CBS does not have to sign everything but a lot, I don't think weapons color is something they have to sign.

Technically, the Classic Blue Phaser Beam Arrays should not exist in the game since there were no arrays in the 23rd century.
They should have been Dual Beam Bank as evidenced by Star Trek: TOS. Therefore, I agree that there should be Classic Blue Phaser DBB.

The new Phasers being green was a BIG disappointment for me. None of my toons will use them.
Still, workable for a S'golth.
