If the official stance on this is that it's not going to happen because it's an oversized B'Rel...

You might want to not reference it in the game.

    Ka'vort class battlecruiser

The K'vort was referenced as a Battle Cruiser in the "Yesterday's Enterprise" alternate timeline. It's a Bird-of-Prey in the prime timeline.

edit: It's not the only example of different folks calling the same ship something different in a Star Trek series/movie/etc.

edit2: Still wish they'd split the difference on it and make it a Heavy Raptor Carrier to fill in the missing Zen Raptor. ;)

The larger bop style ships saw in the klingon civil war i believe were great birds

and those Kavorts in yesterdays enterprise were not class 5 scout bop's there were very much larger

Actually it was first called "Bird of Prey" by Riker in "Yesterday's Enterprise" in the scene where a single one attacks the two Enterprises and kills Garrett.
Before the second attack by the three ones it's called "battlecruiser" by Wes.

As I understand it from the Hayne's Manual, Bird of Prey is not actually a class of ship but it defines a shape.
So it can be basically any class of ship as long as it's shaped properly.

The IKS Koraga in the DS9 episode "Penumbra" was identified as a K'vort class ship.

The type players want will never happen. instead we will get a butchered cruiser comparable tho a normal T5 cruiser. this is all IFF, they even do it.
I use to do 100K DPS, but then I took an arrow to the knee.

The Hegh'ta would work for this if they would tweak it a bit, give it stats close to a Dhelan and it would be a very solid destroyer-class BOP, leaving the others to cover the frigate and escort weights

According to hard canon By the creator of star trek

    S-11 scout romulan = klingon bop K-22 class 5 ..........47.000 mt

D-32 stronger bird class VII........................................ 80.000 mt

    L-42 great bird class X ............................................146.000 mt
    Klingon starship recognition manual

The Kavort class should be larger than the L-42 imo there is no published tech manual for it I know of

anything endorsed by gene roddenbury trumps anything found elsewhere in my book

including the wiki and sto..........anything in sto is considered soft canon

If someone bought a trek franshise and made klingons all wearing pink lipstick and wearing pink Tutu's with rainbow colored ships !!!
would you call that cannon because there in a movie ?

I would not....A lot of fans dont like the JJ changes to canon as well

But there you go ..........Trek can be most anything today because current lisense holders instead of supporting canon attempt to creat there own version of something already established for a quick buck................It doesnt make it cvanon tho

........................................ From a certian point of view...............................
    Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
    Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng

JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

During a podcast, they said they wasn't going to do a larger BOP for a K'Vort. However they did say maybe make it into a different new ship.

K'vort? Bah! Lets go the whole hog and bring in the 600m long bops seen in TNG! :P

I must admit, the KDF does need some ship-shaped loving.

You mean the ones that looked like they were 600 meters.

It's a proven fact that the scene would not have worked with 600 meter tall ships.

I can see it now, it would be marketed as the "ultimate mid-life crisis boat"!

That being said that is one of three reasons the STO team will not make the k'vort.

    #1. Oversized B'rel

#2. Its for the minority (The KDF)

#3. The next KDF ship is currently scheduled to be released 2 years after the mogh was released.

I would just be happy with a MU BoP in the next box, Hegh-ta stats, B'rel hull, and allows you to use the mirror skin on a B'rel if you own one.

Looks like a B'rel but no Battlecloak. Then Release a Fleet Hegh-ta, call that a K'vort, and let it use the B'rel style hull if you have unlocked the MU BoP.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

I would buy a bop kvort cruiser/destroyer as well. I've always liked the look of bops but disliked the escort style of game play so a destroyer bop would fit exactly what I want. Give it commander engineer, 2 universal ensigns, universal Lt., and universal Lt. commander. Give it around 36k hull, comparable to the Veteran destroyer, with a battle cloak and turn rate of 12. Lastly, give it a unique 2409 skin that is minimalistic but instills fear as well.

Heretic! Traitor! Don't you know you're not allowed to like one aspect of gameplay but not another? If you want to fly a destroyer, you have to play Fed! Regardless of how much you might not like playing Fed!

I didn't know the first destroyer in the game (the Guramba) was a Federation starship.;)
