BOFFs: which are best for what?

Which KDF BOFFs are good to maximize:

Damage output?
Survivability?
CritH?
CritD?
Stealth?

What BOFF traits give bonuses unique to KDF?

The only KDF-specific BOFF races that bring anything of benefit to space combat are Nausicaans and their "Pirate" traits. Those give a flat +1.5% dmg boost per Nausicaan.

The only other source for good Space Traits are from the Romulan Embassy "Rom BOFFs." The TAC ones have Superior Operative at certain quality levels for stealth and CritH / CritD benefits, cloak CD reduction. Certain ENG / SCI ones have Superior Subterfuge... in the old system before the Raider BUFFs, they granted extra Decloak Dmg Bonus. Not sure how they perform now in this regard.

If you were hoping for OP space traits stacking all over the place outside the OP Romulans, the Feds & KDF are the wrong place to be.

I think the Pirate trait on Nausicaans also adds Stealth, or it is supposed to add to your Stealth value... but nobody uses Nausicaans for Stealth. It's the +1.5% Damage buff per Nausicaan that we care about.

Otherwise, ditto to everything about Romulans being the only other one to look for in Space.

I actually have a Romulan Engineer with Sup Subterfuge. I just tested it now in my Fleet Hoh'sus... it says "Elite Romulan Ambush" or something when I decloak and attack, so yeah, it still works with Flanking :)

There was a time when Efficient meant something, but those days are pretty much gone.

I have a Romulan toon with a full Rom Op crew so for him i am good. I just wanted to know what the KDF boffs had to offer, this is my first KDF toon, even my Rom is FED allied... Right now i have a full pirate crew AND a rom with RomOp. my Klink toon is rather new, i dont even have rep traits yet but i am able to get 10% crit rate, which is nothing like like roms...

Is it ture i can only get one Rom BOFF? can i not get say, i full bridge crew of them? if not, sounds like i have the good BOFFS already.

Each individual BOFF in the Rom Embassy is "unique". So you can't get 2 of the same Sup Rom OP BOFF, but you could get the other Tac BOFFs with Sup Rom OP/Rom OP.

I still use Letheans for some things. They are good on the ground and the Efficient trait doesnt suck if you take advantage of it.

So wait...........FED and KDF can get other romulans with RomOP and even one with Su Rom Op.....

I current have a crit rate of 10% on a KDF toon with NO REP bonuses at all. i could get what 17-18% with BOFFs......thats not so bad...

You need a Fleet with the appropriate level of Embassy to get Romulan BOFFs, but, yes, you can get BOFFs with Rom Op. They only come in Tactical versions (all the Embassy Sci & Eng BOFFs have Subterfuge only, and the Tacs only come with Rom Op).

This is not true. You can't hold two candidates at the same time, but you can activate one and get another one.

Don't forget also that they ONLY WORK when they are in an ACTIVE station on your current ship ...

It's why all the crying about Romulan BoFF's from FED/KDF players ...

You can only get Superior Romulan Operative in a Tac variant from the embassy.

Most ships only have 1 or 2 (at most 3) Tactical stations available...

On the other hand, Romulan toons, can have a full crew (e.g. Eng, Sci and Tac) with SRO.

you can have as many blue tac male rom boffs (SupOp) as your ship has tac boffs slots. the trick is to commission and seat each boff before buying the next.

You can have three Rom tacs on your Mogh, not a recommended thing that you do though. You'd be giving up all sci BOFF slots if you do that.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

Yeah you can have the multiple Embassy TAC BOFFs with Sup.Operative. But it still is nothing like a Rom Bridge Crew that can all have Sup.Operative regardless of station and maybe Sup.Infiltrator thrown in for good measure. Still, for regular Fed / KDF, this is better than what they normally get.

Rom superior op edges out nausicaan in dps added, but not by much. Nausicaan's 1.5% dmg is true final dmg.

It's not like oblisek set's ap dmg bonus that applies to a layer above weapon power, which is far higher than base, but not the final layer, and thus not true final dmg at all, unlike what many ppl says. Nausicaan bonus apply on top of crit dmg value, which covers everything except other Nausicaans. It also apply to all dmg where they occur, not just weapons (science powers, etc, if you self destruct, it increase dmg on that).

Considering how cheap Nausicaans are, all your non-Rom bos in the space crew should be Nausicaans.
