Torp Ship with Hargh'Pengs?

So, My KDF is hanging out in sector space at the moment trying to build up Dilithium after spending what he had on some fleet consoles and such... Anyway, the Doff missions are great there, especially the marauder missions that net 10+ Contraband for me a day. So, I count this as a plus, since I'm getting 4K Dilithium each day for just sitting there (with a quick visit to a Security Officer in between).

Anyway, whilst I sit there, there's another Doff mission which grants me these Mk XI Purple Hargh'Peng torpedos (that just so happen to be character bound, dangit...), so I've got a collection of them.

Just wondering if it's possible to fit 4 or 5 of these torpedoes on a torpedo boat (like a Qin, or Hegh'ta), or is there a shared-cooldown penalty that would cause all but one to be useless? I know that THY affects the Hargh'pengs but I don't think TS does, ability wise...

Just wanted to know if anyone had any more knowledge than I do on the Hargh'pengs and the feasibility of making a torp boat with them...

Thanks!

I don't know but I'm sure it would kick hull in a Doomsday device sft. On that note, space bz planet killers are a knockoff of the Doomsday device.

Shared cooldown on Hargh'peng is 10 seconds. Standard cooldown is 15. I don't recall if the torp cooldown doffs affect HP torps or not.

HPs are *not* affected by TS *or* HYT.

If you really want to use them, use no more than two per end.

The issue is that they aren't real torpedoes...more like a console that fits into a weapon slot.

Boff abilities don't affect them, them have an outrageous cool down and projectile duty officers do not reduce their cool down. An all harpeng boat would be terrible
    Chive on and prosper, eh?

Pity to just vendor these poor babies... They seem so sweet to me... Maybe I'll pop them into my bank slots and just admire their excellence...

All Hargh'peng's? Probably not. I have two of them on one toon running torp builds. I slotted them and noticed that the first to fire off starts a 15 second cool down on that one that fired, the other starts on a 10 second cool down. Unfortunately, I believe that is all the cool down you'll get out of them, even if you slotted 4 of them. So if you fired 1, 3 would have a 10 second cool down.
Would someone prove that out if you just happen to have 3 or 4 of them?

    Thanks

    Hey Crm,

    Longtime ha :)

Try this combination : Harpeng , Undine bio photon from rep. either the main torpedo at t3 or the one you get in random reward box. and either another harpeng with a breen cluster or a dyson t3 gravmetric photon this way you have nasty selection of ouchies.

If you have any further question just look up each torpedo on wiki and research there interactions good luck :)

    sincerely,

With 2 harpengs the cooldown is 10 sec and it won't go lower than that.
Equip more than 2 harpengs front or back and you lose DPS.

The harpeng is not affected by either TS or HY, nor photonic shockwave.

The bonus is that it does not share a coold own with other torpedoes and can be used as an addition without messing up the cooldown of other torpedoes or torpedo abilities.

Harpengs are a usual member in torpedo builds e.g. harpeng, rapid reload transphasic and breen cluster. (old combo, but it still works).

Firepower is also making the most of your available tactical slots and with a build with more than 2 harpengs you throw that out of the window.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I like using the Hargh'peng for my KDF toon, but nothing really affects it's performance other than the Warhead Yield Chamber.

This works out fine for now since my Boffs do not have HY or TS abilities. But it also means that if I decide to add those abilities, then I would need to switch torpedoes otherwise those would be wasted abilities. The main drawback is nothing will decrease the cool down time. Based on what I have read Projectile Weapon Officers with the chance to decrease cool down time will have no effect on the Hargh'peng. Therefore, you basically need to wait 10 every time you fire before you can fire again.

I think having more than two Hargh'pengs will hurt your DPS, but I am not an expert on that subject. It is only an opinion. I have two Hargh'pengs on my Hegh'ta Heavy BoP; one fore and one aft.
