i find my laptop with a 1.5 GB ved card is struggling a bit not overheating but frame rate goes down into the fire pits when everyone come knockin on the Undine's door. other than that the battle zone is smooth for me must be the amount of stuff happening.

Yeah the snotball spamming rifts are just ridiculously annoying, in the Viscous Cycle, at least make the undine ships unable to teleport into fluidic space, since they are already in fluidic space! Its too bad because otherwise this would be a fun STF

Even my Nvidia Titan has "problems" in the Undine zone. The spam is nuts tbh....

My Titan has no problems. Check your dispplay tab, or graphics tab settings or that third tab. Something is amiss... and a single click can fix it (I think its in that third tab, farthest to the right).

Just a little clarity from my part here.

At this point my laptop is like four years old so yeah, it's up for replacement pretty soon... probably end of the year when the X-mas specials start popping.

AMD A4 APU (dual core), 8GB DDR3, has never had any problems with STO on medium settings before, even in the 20-man events and the Voth Battlezone. I even manage to play TOR on it, albeit on low settings. A much newer game and it runs fine.

I've got 60 megs coming into the house, so it's not a problem with my ISP.

Again, I really shouldn't have to change my graphics settings and sacrifice visual quality just to satisfy one overly spammed zone. Simply dial back the number of fluidic rifts and bubbles on the map at one time, and the problem goes away.

Maybe they're teleporting to realspace instead of fluidic space. :D

My frame rate oddly does not take any more of a hit in the space battle zone (even though it is worse over all since season 9)

The worst part for me is the actual battles. They look terrible. There are awful looking kilometer wide snot bubbles everywhere, those awful looking grav well like rifts, and Undine ships teleporting all over the place. All while your ship can not turn/move very well, and is getting shoved around by everything. It Just does not look like a cool space battle in any way, shape, or form, as far as my tastes are concerned. On top of that all this junk flying around is not even dangerous anyway. I have a somewhat newly equipped Vesta, and my hull rarely drops below 80% ( my hull is pretty weak), and I never lose much shields. I just wish there were maybe a bit less irritating spam, and a few less undine ships, but in turn, they did a bit more weapon damage to you.

I think its more of the engine and low end coders. The game just cant handle what its doing gets bogged down way to much. I am running a Alienware Laptop with 2 AMD 7970's and a I-7 Core and my fps still drops down into the teens.

TBH the code in this game has went to shambles sense PW took it over.. it takes its toll after a while.

I assume you guys are talking mainly about the PVE. I haven't tried those yet because the BZ is bad enough. I have to fly under the radar and hope I fire on something worth killing. If I get too close to the bubbles/rifts....my screen simply stops. It doesn't freeze like a CP meltdown, eventually it'll start back up and I may be dead or not.

Too much annimation, too much clutter = skipping Undine until I need more marks. Then I'll try to do it only during the lull (when few people are on.) Even then it's a pita.

And what happened to single players being able to do the BZ alone???? That's a laugh in itself. I guess if you don't mind dying repeatedly...it's doable. But I base my success on NOT dying, not on HOW OFTEN I can or do die! Am I wrong??

OMG who had the brilliant idea to have so much junk in the space BZ? If I don't fly over or under the battle, I'm lost in what looks like a bad case of Undine upchuck. Seriously, even people with killer PCs are having issues with all of the bubbles and rifts popping up. Kill some of it! Too much is too much, and the BZ is beyond too much!!

Something I noticed about the Undine that I'm not sure if its a mistake or just another bonus they have for extra holding power power, but their THY only has a 20-second cooldown compared to the 30-second CD that everyone else uses. Given how annoying it is getting constantly slowed by all those high-yield bioplasmic torps anyways, can't decide if its an actual mistake or if its a cheat they get to make them even more annoying?

One more reason to avoid the 8472 space stuff I suppose.

that figures. There's nothing more annoying than constantly having your engines debuffed or offline.

And what do you know all your abilities that cleanse are on cooldown. Fun.

To be hoenst the spam is because the more people there are the more Undine ships warp in.

I dont mind the ship count. Thats good.

What I do mind is having like 2 or 3 different undine grav wells pop up and all of them start spitting snot out.

If you're going to do that to us cryptic dont give us an ability to the bubbles. They'll just come back. You need to give us an ability to close the damn wells.

Ok so it's not just me with this problem. It happens in starbase defense too.

    Also on Crystalline Catastrophe.
