Season 9: not half bad..

as the title said. there of course are ups and downs for me
ups.. the new f/e is superb, and I really enjoy it.
the 8472 mission where you save a planet is superb. visually, it is the sexiest map in the game. I love the tenticles reaching out, and all the pockets of fluidic space.. just amazing.. my only complaints about it are the whole close the portals thing was kind of used up with the mirror event for me. I know I know, its the only way for them to access this universe, but, to be honest, it would have been nice to just repel the invasion, and not have to seal the rifts.. lol a tiny nit pick..
the other complain is the same one I have had for a while.. the three roles need more distinct and imperitive roles to play in each instanced game. I want to feel as if I could fail. and I want to count on my team the same way a federation captain would rely on other captains to play their part in any kind of military event.
another thing I would like to see in the future, is some more cut scenes in these events, to really show that its a perilous mission, or what not.. for example, the one I did, was with the ferangi. they have all sorts of npc ships helping us.. to show us warp in as their ships are being battered, and us kind of providing some back bone would be nice.. or a cut scene after you close the rifts, showing some of the npc ships closing in on the planet eater, and being destroyed, and hearing on the comm channels the futility of our predicament. that would be a real treat, and really help people feel like they are witnessing a major event..
but over all I still give it a b+..
im also into the new space dock.. it is beautifull. really like the "star trek Renegades" nod on the ship placement list in the admirals office with the Icarus, and it being a ship that looks like the Icarus in renegades (Prometheus).
the other instanced missions were pretty meh for me, a lot of them feel like reskins of old missions. (basically because they were..
and I am not a fan of remastering old content.. its content, it was good, leave it be and focus on continuing the game.
new kits are great.. I also enjoy having the bio phasers, about time phasers got a boost lol..
so like I said, not half bad.. I enjoy about half of the content this season has to offer (which is better than past seasons..).
keep building off the stuff that is good. like I said, it would be nice to see some new style missions that are not the same abc missions we have ( complete a, beam down and complete b, beam back up and complete c, and your done..)
