    NO.

And btw, cuttin beam is a BEAM, not a torpedo... its impossible to be affected by the projectile weapons skill..

KCB is a special weapon that cant be affected by any skill. Its great, since it has 360 arc firing point and it deals pure kinetic damage, that is good since enemie does not have kinetic damage resistance (as far as i know). That, plus the borg tech set, will give you the assimilated tractor beam that can be used in conjunction with the KCB, and thats the only "boost" you will get using the kinetic cuttin beam.

as far as I can tell, the beam dps is affected by weapon power and almost nothing else (including beam skills?). I do not think overload or faw work with it. I do not think beam consoles work with it. It is a high dps 360 weapon that is part of a set that adds to damage, so it is worth using even with the restrictions.

Nothing modifies it except engine power. It is almost better than torps because it is on target faster than most torps at distance.

Is it not affected by points in weapon training and energy weapons skills? It drains weapons subsystem power and is classed as an energy weapon so it should do. Its not affected by any BOFF or captain powers, I know that.

The wiki says no consoles affect it, though.

    Engine power effects? Really? Crazy

Can you site the source for this because that's VERY interesting.

weapon training in energy weapons probably does. It costs $$ to respec to check it... so its not easy to take a look. Maybe next week, when we can respec our rep powers, we can check as one of those adds weapon power.

He probably meant weapon power but you dont need a source, you can check yourself faster than clicking on a link to source..not even counting the hours you might spend waiting for a reply. Just lock your weapon power and adjust your engine power to see if there is a change. Weapon damage displayed will change almost immediately, in system of course.

Having two of the pieces to the set it comes in will be able to increase it's DPS also. The two piece set bonus affects it, increasing it's effect. To see this effect, have your weapon tray open, and when you see the set bonus activate, hold your mouse over the KCB. When the bonus is gone, the DPS of the KCB will go back to normal levels.

The only downside is that you cannot just activate this when you want to. It has a chance of activating.

If you already have a weapon, and want to see what consoles effect it, then you can go into any system, and place your mouse over the weapon in the weapons tray. The popup window will show the DPS that weapon will do. Then, either remove or add a console and look at the DPS. If I changes, then you will see it's effects instantly.

The same goes for skills you activate. You can see which ones effect which weapons. Some skills will not be able t activate till you are in combat, or have an enemy targeted. If you go into PVP with a friend you know or trust, you can use them as a target, then activate your skill(s) and see which weapon(s) are affected by the skills.

how is that? its the first time i read this...

As i said, the kcb alone is fine, but if you want to have more use of it, you should get the borg set, and use the kcb in conjunction with the assimilated tractor beam. If you use the assimilated tractor beam, when using the KCB, there is a chance to increase the damage (i think it was the damage what it was affected, but im not sure).

Yeah, i missed the post "yea i meant weapons power.." lol.

Anyways, weapon proficiency always increase weapons damage, its an universal rule, but energy weapons especialization, i dont think it will increase the damage of the KCB. As said in tons of posts, nothing buffs the KCB. Didnt try back in the days, but i remember to ask the same thing time ago, and the anwsers were clear. Nothing buffs the KCB. Except using the assimilated tractor beam, of course.

Not even increasing the weapons power..
