Summer Event Question/Suggestion

Was just reading another thread on here and it got me thinking.
In the summer I plan to go on my annual sto shore leave (download rock festival, donnington uk). And I have a specific question regarding the summer event. I know its a little early but its more of a suggestion than a question, (if I'm not being ignorant in my question).
Will cryptic (will you guys) have the option to keep the summer event store open after the event in the rep store as per the winter event?
I wasn't interested in last years ship and have since bought the one or two items I wanted from the exchange. But should this event popup in the middle of my shore leave then will I be able to keep the store open and pay lobi at a later date for the rewards needed? (if I am unable to play for the required time during the event to get the ship?). Assuming I can play the event at least once to open the store.
This is of course if I fancy going for the ship.
