Protonic Polaron or Polarized Disruptors

I have both and I'm not real sure which one to use for my drain build. I'm currently running the Solanae 4-pc set but, obviously, that can be changed as needed. I'm just not sure which is better.

Thoughts?

Both can work, but unless you expect to crit quite often the protonic can be unused to its full potential.

The polarized disruptors is a good choice as well, polaron drain mixed with the disruptor DR debuff.

Also let's not forget the phased polaron as well, polaron drain with a phaser subsystem knockout proc.

All 3 are highly effective for a drain build, so it's really up to you.

Clearly disruptors, since disruptor proc is so much better.

Of course, romulan plasma is better than either.;)

Though I would love to use the Romulan Plasma weapons, I'm not so sure they work as well with a drain build.

Hence why I made fun of that comment, no, they don't work as well with a drain build.

Since protonic-proc is laughable even with high CrtH, disruptor is the way to go, especially with a more supportive build.

don't be so sure... proto pol on my high crit rommie is pretty nice - admittedly, you do sacrifice overall polaron dps to use the protonic proc well (dyson tac console), but with high crit, the prtonic proc can almost serve as a transphasic build, cooking the enemy from the inside

Not to mention damage buffs buff protonic polaron proc damage (afaik)

    HERETIC!!!

    *orders orbital bombardment*

On a more serious note, wraith was right. On a purely drain build, your best bet is Polarized Disruptors. They have the wonderful bug of if one proc activates, both activate, which is quite beautifully nice.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)
