'Day of Honor' walkthrough

Hey guys,

I noticed that many players have experienced issues with starting and compeleing the KDF 'Day of Honor' mission, just as I have. I assume some of the people having issues might think of checking out the KDF section of the forum for advice, so I created this thread in order to help out anyone that is experiencing problems with the mission.

These are 2 replies I made in another thread in general discussion that was discussing this same problem for the KDF, they're explaining the way in which I was able to complete the mission so hopefully it could work for everyone else that can't start or finish the 'Day of Honor' mission.

Anyway, for anyone that will encounter this issue - do not follow instructions! The instructions are a mess and most of them point you in the wrong direction.
The way to do this is the following:

- Hail J'mpok via the mission journal ('J' button)
- Go into Omega Leonis (yes, not Qo'noS orbit, not the IKS Bortasqu' via shipyard and not Ganalda as it says), right next to the planet Qo'noS and it will give you an option to start the 'Day of Honor' mission.
- Afterwards, it's suposed to automatically bring you to Ganalda station after the conversation on the IKS Bortasqu' bridge and you'll be in the right ship - the IKS Bortasqu'.
- When you finish and leave map, hail J'mpok and you'll receive your reward.

^ This worked for me at least. Your experience may vary.

Here's a walkthrough from what happened to me:

- I needed to contact J'mpok via the 'Mission Journal'. Not talk to him directly, but via the 'Mission Journal' even though I was standing next to him. Didn't give the option otherwise.
- After taking the mission from J'mpok, the mission pop-up on the side of my UI said to go to Ganalda Station. This was not correct.
- The mission summary under the 'Missions Journal' said to go to the Qo'noS Shipyard to talk to Captain Koren. This was also not correct.
- Going to the I.K.S. Bortasqu' from the transporter pad in First City didn't work as well, because the system didn't reckognize the mission as started. I ended up in my BoP instead of the I.K.S. Bortasqu' and didn't get the special bat'leth.
- Then I needed to go in Omega Leonis Sector Block (on my own wild guess), right next to Qo'noS solar system. It is then when I received a pop-up to start the 'Day of Honor' mission. This finally worked.
- After all of this, the mission ran as it's suposed and I finished it.

Hope this helps. Qapla'!

    On a side note...

What's up with the Bortasque's hull? I really struggle to survive in this ship, as something keeps punching through the shields and stripping 50% of the hull in one hit; then I watch the rest of the hull melt, still through the shields.

I assume you're talking about the particular I.K.S. Bortasqu' from the "Day of Honor" mission.

The thing is, that ship's build looks like it's being pulled together by a 3-year old kid. The enire build, Boff layout and equimpent makes absolutely no sense. It's sooo all over the place, it even has common Mk II consoles. *facepalm*
Speaks volumes about Cryptic's lack of attention to details, really.

I assume this is the problem you've encountered with the ship, since I also found myslef going "WTF!!!" due to this before checking to see the setup on that ship. 'Terribad' doesn't even start to cover it, if this ship goes 1 on 1 with my own Bortasqu' I give it 3 to 5 seconds before it blows up.

A 5 minute mission that is basically a mixture of the previous years' events (2nd year Anniversary and last year's First Contact Day) and it still comes out buggy only for the KDF...

    *sigh*, Cryptic...

Adjust the power levels, if you haven't done so.

Personally I like how it has two cannon only powers when it doesn't actually have any cannons on it aside the auto cannon console.

    Cryptic shipbuilding 101.

I'm about 100% sure that they just slapped the setup on the I.K.S. Bortasqu' in a rush and called it a day. It's not like the content in this game is complicated so we couldn't do the mission in a full beam ship with cannon Boff abilities, right? I mean c'mon, a Mk II white console? lol :P
