As the title suggests, I am wondering what the Foundry community as a whole would prioritize as their Top Most Requested things in the Foundry.
My list, in order, is as follows:
1) Existing Assets (this includes costume options, objects, ect) any existing asset should be able to be imported I would think (the time required is not fully understood by the players though, but would think it would take less time than creating systems from scratch)
2) Add back in the ability to import characters
3) Story support
4) 3d Nudger
If I have 6 missions that are a "story" allow them to be played in that order (Like they have for Cryptic Story Arcs like the "Breen Invasion" or "Undine Advance"
If I have 6 missions that are a "story" allow them to be played in that order (Like they have for Cryptic Story Arcs like the "Breen Invasion" or "Undine Advance"
That's what's known as a "campaign" in Neverwinter. Its Foundry already has campaign support, and supposedly it's coming to the STO Foundry too, though I've yet to hear anything on its status for Season 9. We may have to wait for Season 10 or the next expansion for campaign support.
He means campaign support like they have over in Neverwinter.
For me, right now:
-- Romulan and Bajoran costumes and clothes.
-- Tau Dewa systems as mission doors.
-- 3D map maker.
"Great War! / And I cannot take more! / Great tour! / I keep on marching on / I play the great score / There will be no encore / Great War! / The War to End All Wars"
— Sabaton, "Great War"
Because it will do this (start at 5:20) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpZkFV1yGpE to the current UI roadblock and make the playerbase equal the soldiers metaphorically (flooding into the Foundry afterward).
Bonus points for anyone who can name the sergeant in this clip (you'll have to watch the whole thing).
1. Missing costumes, Mainly the more modern looking Jupiter Uniforms and in my opinion superior looking Odyssey and Bortas' Uniforms. Full Romulan Republic Uniforms ( seriously? how these ever got misplaced I'll never understand ) because it will be a big help to those authors making romulan themed missions and the up coming Kit items in the foundry costume creator would be nice, mostly because it will help creating scientists and doctors with the medical kit parts , and security with the tactical kit parts
2. The Origin Bridge and interior items, doors and wall pieces. If these are indeed as they said, modular parts, then I imagine there would be a wealth of applications for a creative author to make use of. Perhaps allowing us more scope for Ship in a bottle missions?
Added to this would be more modern looking origin type consoles found on the new ESD map
Part of the reason why i ask for this is because i want to see the standard for foundry sets improve, The main game itself has undergone some very nice improvements, with the new environments being massive improvements, Improvements the foundry is lacking, making even the most creative custom map feel somehow tacky and less polished than the rest of the game, Fixing this wouldn't even be that complex, Some stairs, and textured floors and ceilings would work wonders ( I should point out that I am in no way criticising the work of authors, some of whom have created amazing maps, but we have so little to work with it can't compare with cryptic missions)
3. The revamped Earth Space dock deck 47 Social zone map. I think this needs little explination as to why.
And of course, the map for New Romulus, both space and ground, as well as the Flotilla
Because this would help authors making romulan missions , and while I don't intend to make one, I would like to play one (Also it would be nice if they could create some prefabricated 'rooms' for example the Sickbay on the New ESD, something like that, which could be placed as a single piece perhaps ?)
4. User interface mission search improvements, I think this would be a benifit to all authors, For more information I endorse this proposal by captainhunter1
(This http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/sh...d.php?t=943411 before anything else.)
5. miscellaneous Scenery for set dressing, More benches and chairs that have the interactive sit down functions ( the new ESD ones are nice) , Bridge chairs, more machinery that is animated ( the spinning fans on the water pumps are nice, gives the impression of stuff working away ) lamps, plants, that kind of thing
6. A blank interior Map, nothing, just a box with nothing in it , a flat map of water with no details or land masses. ( take inspiration from the halo forge world maps, Mostly blank canvas to use as we see fit)
These are the Voyages on the STO forum, the final frontier. Our continuing mission: to explore Pretentious Posts, to seek out new Overreactions and Misinformation , to boldly experience Cynicism like no man has before.......
1: Interior and Exterior 3D creation and editing
2: Timers
3: Multi-faction social zones
4: The ability to create our own planets in space
5: The ability to make people use a certain ship and setup in certain parts or the whole mission. (Along with Shuttle missions)
1. Next Button and a Search button that isn't just an Arrow to indicate it for casual glancers
2. Author Subscribe Support
3. Campaign Support
4. Map Creator(populater) akin to Neverwinter (I am cool with ground only)
Pardon my ignorance, as I am fairly novice with the foundry, but I would like the ability to use pop -up dialog boxes (or whatever it's called) like Cryptic used during the ending space battle of "Sphere of Influence" if that is not already something the Foundry editor can do. Obviously without the voiceovers. It would provide an option to move dialogue along with out the use of a full dialogue box stopping the action. But like I said I don't know if this is something the Foundry editor can already do, or if it is even possible.

[*]I'm also in the opinion that players should be given a bonus for playing a mission they haven't played before. Dilithium, mark box or something small.
I like this idea, nothing to significant, but a nice carrot to get more people looking around for missions

I'd love to use those, Could be great for dialogue in battles , Imagine if we could state transition them to enemy NPCs so that they could give a classic 'today is a good day to die' line or something as they are destroyed
Also be good for civilian crowds if your making a town or city, Could be used as conversations you overhear as you go past them using a reach marker

You can already do this, if you want to fight them just re costume the npc
So I could make Fed npcs to fight that would count towards the kill accolade for a Fed char? And also any other npc which is not available in game or those that would require countless replays to obtain the accolade?
I haven't been able to find a map for a ship's galley or "Ten Forward."
Also, I wanted to do a story with the Breen and it didn't look like I was able to implement them, at least not into a dialogue screen.
EDIT: I'm not sure whether or not this is possible already, but the ability to cue dialog or actions to the remaining hit points on your captain and your ship's hull would be good. For example, you're fighting a battlecruiser, you're outmatched, but instead of blowing up and respawning to defeat it, allies are cued to rush in and help you when your ship is down to say 50% hull integrity.
DOUBLE BONUS EDIT: I'd like to see some maps from earth's history so we can do some time-travel/holodeck episodes.
A lot of things, but I wish we would be able to import previously exported Foundry mission files. So we can edit the dialogues and everything through word/openoffice/whatever. For spell check and grammar.
Also, because it's quite tedious (IMO) to edit text in the foundry (I always miss the click and drag/drop dialogues instead of selecting a part of the text), and it would be much easier on another program. Even notepad.
Looking back over this thread, I realised quite a few of the suggestions have actually been added
Water volumes and the floors, along with the new ESD consoles and the sit-able chair were all asked for, and we got them, I guess maybe somebody is paying attention me thinks?

What do you mean by #3 Story support?

1. Increase the amount of placable assets.
2. Moveable NPCs and triggerable controls of when and where they go.
3. Ability to create cut scenes.

1 b) Badges for the Tos/mirror outfits
2) Maps (Nimbus, Vinirat, Maybe someo f the maps that appear in the PVE queues? such as "big dig, or breaking the planet" ?)
3) Spelling and Grammer Checker
4) 3D editing
5) The ability to make PVP maps.

I am a HUGE FAN of the foundry and all the immensely talented, hard working authors... but I'm not a foundry author myself.
I know this might be low on many Foundry authors 'wish lists' of tools, but what about the ability to add voices or audio clips?
Some people are very talented impressionists or mimics... I think they might have a lot of fun bringing NPC'S even more to life.
There's been talk of Cryptic using existing audio clips to bring someone like say Captain Benjamin Sisko to life in an adventure or two.
I wish Foundry authors could be allowed to do the same.
Just a thought!
These Are The Voyages...
That would require someone to review each mission for profanity and other forbidden content.
1. A simple water volume object.
2. Simple, primitive textures for walls, floors, etc. (we need variety)
and
3. A serious reworking of the search UI.
1: A Romulan mission designation option (i.e. for missions meant for Romulan Republic commanders, regardless of alliance)
2: Mission doors in the Tau Dewa sector block and Republic Flotilla interior
3: Pretty much all the New Romulus/LoR assets we really should have gotten with the expansion, such as:

It is such a pain to adjust something .2 on the X value, go into the map, come out, adjust by another .2, go back in.
Indeed.......

1) A way to visually position and rotate objects in a 3D map view. This would be a major QoL improvement for foundry authors.
2) A way to import and export a single map and not the entire mission. This allow foundry authors to share locations that they have built.
Water volumes and the floors, along with the new ESD consoles and the sit-able chair were all asked for, and we got them, I guess maybe somebody is paying attention me thinks?
