Fleet Scourage Destroyer- Worth It?

So I absolutely love the design of Nausicaan ships currently in the line-up, they're easily one of my favorte "alien" KDF ships so far. I've been flying the Guramba for the better part of my Klink career, though the lack of a tenth console spot has been starting to hamper me somewhat.

That being said, I'm planning on getting the Fleet Scourage with the the extra dil from the Mirror Event, though I'm curious as to whether this would be an actual upgrade from my Guramba. Do note, the Vulcan D'Kyr is my second option to use this extra currency, though that ship more for looks than anything else.

So, should I go with the four FSMs for the Scourage, or just go with the D'Kyr?

Fleet Scourge is a very good ship for PVE. Very agile and very good handling, very easy to get on target. The extra sci ensign seat is nice, and lets you use a backup PH, or a double HE, or ST, or you can even slot MES if you want a psuedo-cloak. Really just very nice to fly. Its not very practical in PVP, since being the only KDF without a cloak is a death sentence--you can use MES in the ensign to get around that some but its not as useful in PVP as it is in PVE.

It's an incremental upgrade. Just a bit better than the Scourage you already have all around.

Although if you're going to spend 4 fleet modules, might as well make it a bit different. Fleet mogh and Fleet Torkhat are both viable as dhc boats, both are very heavy on tac boff, have 4 tac consoles, and cloak.

With 10 base turn rate + 3 from cruiser command for 13 turn rate before rcs, Fleet Torkhat handles well with dhcs.

Fleet mogh is more difficult with dhcs, with lower turn rate and not enough inertia to slide while keeping aim. But it's still viable if you give it extra rcs consoles.

Well I mean, as much as I love the Tor'Kaht, pretty sure one can't buy a ship twice. As for the Mogh, too squishy for my playstyle in a Battlecruiser. I'd rather just go with a 'Scort for something like that.

Still, I do get where you're coming from. If it's not going to play much differently than my Guramba/be much of an upgrade (albeit, without a Siege Mode), I'm probably going to go with the D'Kyr.

The Nausicaan Destroyers (Scourge, Guramba) like the Raptors will be as effective as anything in PVE.

The issue with these ships is in PVP. Yes, they handle better than the Raptors with their weird turn axis. They're pretty rugged. But the KDF has alot of cloak capable ships. And being one of the very few non-cloaked KDF ships is going to make your life tough. At least a non-cloak capable Vo'Quv has the hull and defenses required to withstand initial onslaughts. But a KDF Escort without cloaks when everyone else is cloaked?... I'll say this, your life will not be dull.

Despite this being a year old, i'd like to add that the fleet scourge and fleet gurumba are viable in Kerrat and therefore i assume by extension in regular pvp.

I nice trick i use for them is mask energy signature, jam sensors and such. Sure it is not a battle cloak or advanced battle cloak, but you can get the drop on opponents regardless.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
