Solution for the Galaxy beef: Customizing the Dreadnough like the Galaxy

It will be nice if it was possible to customize the Dreadnought to look like the Galaxy (with the guys that customize your ship at ESD). It will be a simple and easy solution for all the drama around the Galaxy and the TNG fans.

Since we got the galaxy in the bundle, it will be natural to be able to use those parts from that ship for the Dreadnought. I mean, we doing this with the Kumari and Defiant right now...

For the Phaser lance, maybe it will need to stay on the saucer or make the animation shoot from the deflector if the player want to have the Galaxy saucer for his Dreadnought.

Cryptic, you have my permission to push this idea in your next meeting ;-)

    I partly agree. I was really hoping for a Monarch-X when the Fleet Dread was released. I wanted to use some of the parts from it.

    As cool as this would be, It won't happen. When the Galaxy bundle came along, I think it was Bluegeek who asked if they would allow the 3rd nacelle to be removed so the ship could look more like a normal Galaxy. One of the devs told him no. :(

    That's actually a good idea. I like it.

    Since the original Galaxy "parts" are hidden beneath the neck and lance additions, it would be pretty simple to undo the changes and make an option for "classic Galaxy", "classic venture", etc. Besides, we could also have those Venture phaser strips on the nacelles like we always wanted!

    i would just be happy with a way to remove the 3rd nacelle or have the nacelle be replaced with a nebula mission pod

    It has been done before, kind of.

    Yes, you can mix match the parts of the Kumari (tact), the Charal (eng) and the Khyzon (sci). You can actually fly the Kumari tact but with the entire ship parts of the Charal or Khyzon. Same with the Defiant and the Sao Paulo and many others.

    The Galaxy bundle deserve the same! That's the fun part of owning a bundle!

    Being able to have the option "None" for the 3rd nacelle is a must.

    Cyptic will probably sell more of those if that happen, that's certain.

    Hell if it's likely to make them more money and since that seems to be what it's all about, why the hell not? If someone is willing to buy the ship just to get the lance power, cloak and hanger, to put it in a regular looking Galaxy, give them the options, what is it hurting?
    I wouldn't mind more customization choices, the ability to remove the center warp pod or change it with a Nebula sensor pod, the option to use a Monarch skin, which I probably wouldn't use, since I did buy the Venture skin specifically to dress up the Dreadnought, but it would be nice to have the option anyway.
    That said, if they can't even be bothered to straighten out the cockeyed parts, the chances of them going a further step to allow more customization isn't likely.
    If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
    Oh Hell NO to ARC

    If they did this, (allowed the dreadnought to use the costume pieces of the standard Galaxy and Venture variants) I would buy it. :)

    Originally when the X came out we could disable the X add ons with a option in the tailor. So its easy to do for them like 2 mins to change it. I say if you disable the X visuals make the lance firing look like the massive deflector beam from TNG episode with the borg.

    Would be pretty epic looking, cannon. Just leave it phaser dmg etc etc but change the effect.

    or a massive charged shot from the main array. but the deflector works to


    back when you could disable the x parts it looked like it fired form the torpedo tube

    I really.... Really really really... Really...like that. In that constellation I might fly that ship constantly^^ or at least more often...
