In the new Omega rep we see this:
Replaced the "Rotating Weapon Frequency" power with "Omega Graviton Pulse Module". This new power causes all of your ground weapon attacks to have a 5% chance to deal additional kinetic damage with 100% shield penetration. This damage is doubled against Borg.
Now here's the killer, Rotating weapon frequency seemed pretty useful for those of us who didn't want to spend most of a ground battle against the Borg typing in new frequencies to a gun.
Equally one could argue that it might lessen the impact of not wasting a device slot on the remodulator.
I'm sure the obvious answer is "Get a MACO set for ground missions". It is, I suppose, a valid argument. Of course I'm sitting here looking at my Jem'Hadar character which I'm spending a lot of time and treasure on getting the fully pimped ground set.
In fact that argument could be applied to all the end game ground sets that aren't MACO, Omega or Honour Guard.
The obvious answer is to give all the end game sets the MACO weapon remodulator. But That seems to be a bit of a blunt answer, as it in a way is right that only the Omega rep sets would be set up for the Borg. So we have a bit of a quandary, especially for those who either don't have any option, or want to use other end game gear against the Borg.
Well one other idea I had would be a "kit" version of the Omega rep remodulator. As we know Kit's are becoming module based, so why not include a Universal module, that is the same remodulator as the MACO one? That way a player has to sacrifice something, but isn't entirely gimped.
