Clarification on title buffs

See various accolades that award some type of boost or buff, for example:
(lFrozen over - defeat 200 breen ships 2% damage boost vs breen ships)

My question is simply is the boost only active when you use the title?

If no on that one are any? Or are all boosts earned through accolades only active when using the title. I suspect that is the case but the description is not clear so would like verification.

    They're passive buffs.

    Laf, I've been playing for close to 2 years and didn't realize those accolades *had* passive buffs attached.

    Yep. same here, played since F2P. But until recently never really paid attention to accolades/titles. This is why i was asking. The accolades are well worth pursuing if every earned accoldade that grants a buff is always active... not so much if the buffs are only active when the related title is on. One would have to change titles to fight borg, then change tittles to fight Roms.. etc etc... hoping once earned the buff stays and is not title dependent. Reading the accolade descriptions that isn't clear however.

    It is my understanding that the buff is active whether or not the title is in use.

    99.9% positive that this is correct. Once you earn the accolade the buff is permanent.

    The accolades used to actually tell you what buff they came with, now you can't tell. That whole list is a giant mess.

    so does anybody have a list of which ones have effects?

    they're actually fairly straight forward, the buff is against the species that the accolade was for. That being said, they're not really that useful unless you're a min/maxer. the buffs aren't that big, and they're generally +1-2% damage against X or something like that. The same goes for the damage type accolades, they're +1-2% damage with X weapon type for damage dealt accolades and +1-2% resistance against X type for the damage received accolades.
