    I'm pretty sure that Quantum Torpedo's are Federation but is there a list anywhere that details which technology/weapons in the game belongs to which factions?

    go to the shipyrd talk to the EC vendor there he sells only federation items in white /common

    Chronitons were from the Krenim I belive, but its been an age since I watched it.

    Self-imposed challenges are usually the best kind, in part because you're free at any time to say "eff it" and break your own rules. I used the T2 Nova from level 10 to level 40 once. That was fun.
