Wiki's mythical Stun Grenade 3

OK, looking to solve a mystery. Wiki says there's 3 levels of the Stun Grenade ability. I find nothing but Stun Grenade 1 in game. So is this just a case of outdated info on the wiki?

IF you actually read the wiki, it states that some uncommon+ Boffs have stun grenade 2 and that the third level can only be trained by a tac officer with the correct skill point allocation.

You misunderstand. None of the skills in a tac captains skilltable state that they would enable training of Stun Grenade 3. Allocating 6 points in Threat Control grants no training options. Allocating 6 points in Grenades, however, enables captain training of Stun Grenade 1 (neither two nor three).
Hence the question if and where to find these ability-versions.

Some tactical kits in Mk VIII rare, Mk IX rare and Mk X very rare (namely Grenade Satchel, Close Combat Specialist, Security Protocol) have Stun Grenade 2 or 3 in their description.

Right, I'm wondering if the Stun Grenade 2 and 3 were nixed somewhere along the way and the wiki never got updated. We all know how accurate the wiki is. :P

I do see the abilities in the kits, so that opens up another option. All those capts that say they can train SG1 is a misprint, and they are actually training SG3.

However, wiki also says SG2 is boff trainable. I spent an hour looking at every tac officer in the exchange, and could find nothing but SG1. No SG2 in sight.

    Hence my confusion.

Looks like it was probably a victim of the last time they redid the skill tree. That was... over two years ago? Almost three? And you're the first person who's noticed.
