MVAM & Antimatter Spread Console

I was reading the full information on the Antimatter Spread Console in game and in the Dev blog for the Galaxy update. (The STO Wiki link does not list the MVAM oddly enough)
Antimatter Spread on Saucer – As always, when equipping the Antimatter Spread console on any ship that supports saucer separation (any Galaxy, Odyssey, or Prometheus Variant), the separated Saucer pet will gain the Antimatter Spread ability. This bonus will now also apply to the Galaxy Dreadnought.
So, according to both in game information and the blog, the MVAM pets should get the antimatter spread ability.

Has anyone actually seen them do it? As I have been trying for a week now, in PvP (1 on 1 with a friends for 30 minutes each time) and in PvE. Yet not once have I seen the MVAM pets use it.

Is this a bug? Is it incorrect information?

Any ideas?

    Tried it all morning and I never saw it happen. Seems like it's a bug or wrong info in the dev blog. The MVAE didn't even get the new separation tech like they said it would too.
