Voth Antiproton vs Fleet Antiproton

Hey everyone,

I'm looking at the stats for the Fleet AP vs MkXII Voth AP and I'm noticing that the Voth weapons tend to Crit higher, but do less base damage than the fleet gear.
So I have a few questions:

*What is the difference between "+30 Crit Severity Bonus" and "+30% Crit Severity"

*Is it worth losing out on 30 points of damage for a higher Crit severity? My Crit hit percent is at 15% right now with a 90% severity. The Voth items would push me past 100% severity, but would keep the crit chance about the same.

*Is fleet gear really the "top gear" when it comes to the DHC's right now? Well, regarding PvE...

Just for reference, this is on a Fleet Defiant with Spire consoles equipped and whatnot. I'll post the full build if needed.

Last I checked, they only had Adv. Fleet Antiproton weapons... not Elite Fleet. I am assuming you mean the Adv. AP ones then.

Depends on what you want to do... for me I'm just under 25% crit chance and 102% crit severity in space with my setup.

I'm also stacking the Adv. Fleet AP weapons with ACCx2 & DMGx2 or DMGx3 & ACC.

Don't Voth AP have a variant of the Disruptor Proc, where as the Fleet AP has a bonus to CritH and DMG?
Oh, hoho hohhhhh, Oh,, hoho, hohhhhh

Voth AP sacrifices the natural 20% crtd of AP and instead gives your target a -acc upon crit.

So if you want pure dakka, fleet adv AP is still superior. But Voth AP has a lot more usage in PvP.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

Voth AP doesn't reduce accuracy. It reduces dmg output of the target.

My bad. I don't use it, so I don't know it inside and out XD.

The fleet ap works better for me. I bought a complete refit of the Voth accx3 weapons and tried them for over a week. The proc seems to come in ok but that damage reduction doesn't stack. Also you only get 25% chance of decreasing the damage of your opponent when you crith. So you are getting a reduced proc. Usually getting something that procs more often is the way to go in the game.

So with 15% crith and fleet ap you are getting 20% more critd for every crith roughly 15% of every shot.

But with 15% crith and voth ap you are getting 15%/4, roughly 4% chance to reduce the damage of your opponent.

So the voth really only benefits you if you want to fly around and hope for a debuff of the enemy. If you want to kill something get the fleet ap.

Not to mention fleet ap sounds way better.

I had a fleet member tell me they were gonna buy a set of voth ap weapons and I convinced them to go with advanced fleet ones instead.

I think I did the right thing.
