Need Help With Deck Officer Placement?

Greeting Fellow Captains.

I have one unfilled deck officer box for engineeing,

And at the moment my tachical officer seems to be doing both jobs even though his station on the bridge is stated as the tachical station?

But that box for an bridge officer in charge of engineeing on the bottom of the screen when playing the ship battles as seen from outside the ship is empty?

Now I at long last got the refinned dithium needed to goto the earth space dock and see the deck officers listed there?

I find a bridge officer who is great and would fill this engineeing empty box as a new
bridge officer! Now I commission her 1st so I can use her to fill that empty engineeing box station on my bridge so that the tachical o#bridge officer may now do his own station only?

I am told I need to train her the new bridge engineeing officer up to work there as it is a commander level station there?

But I start to look at training her for it and she does not seem to be listed name wise on the left side of the bridge officers to be used screen?

Plus when I did find her on the main ship crew screen she tells me that I can train her up But there is no bridge officer station free to puther in and after her train to please return her to earth space dock?

But there is a empty box for the station of engineeing bridge officer on my screens for the ship?

So what is wrong?

And in my full crew listed there is a few crew who couls be used for this station on the bridge as they got the basic skills needed But I can only use them as a crew not as a bridge officer?

Why is it there is a empty engineeing station box to be filled but she say's there is none free to fill?

I thought that since there is a empty bridge deck officer station to control engineeing she could go there after being trained up to the commander level needed?

Very odd indeed?

Any thoughts friends?

Ok, there is a limit on how many Bridge Officers you can have commissioned at one time. You start with only four slots, and Silver players get a maximum of six slots by the time they reach the level cap. To have more Bridge Officers active, you will have to buy more Bridge Officer slots from the C-store.

Second, the "Train Up" option is NOT for training that particular officer in a skill--rather it is for EXPENDING that officer in order to teach ANOTHER officer in that skill. In other words, the officer that is used to Train Up is LOST FOREVER once you have done this, and his/her chosen skill will be passed to the Bridge Officer of your choice.

Basically you have the right number of Bridge Officers but one of them is the wrong class to fill the station that needs filling however because there is a limit to the number of Bridge Officers you can have you need to dismiss one of your redundant ones so that the new one you have waiting in the wings can join the crew.

What it means is that you have an engineering station on the ship, but not enough Engi Boffs to fill that position and not enough Boff slots to recruit an engi Boff
