Exchange - Console Quality Detection.

afreebyafreeby Member Posts: 110 Arc User
When I go to offload ship consoles on the exchange, search does not detect the quality of the item.

If I search for say, a rare torpedo launcher, the exchange detects the quality automatically, but for consoles, I have to use filters. If I just use the rarity filter, no results pop. I have to use quality, then ship console, then console type to get results.

Is there a possibility this will be fixed in the future? Are there any shortcuts I can take?

If by "search for a rare torpedo launcher" you mean "drag the item name from the inventory into the search bar" then no, it's not detecting the rarity automatically. All rare weapons have 2 [mods] in their name so it automatically excludes common or uncommon items only on the basis of the name string matching. If you keep scrolling to the last page you should bump into very rare items using the same search parameters. It doesn't actually have any way to detect rarity. (Delete one of the [mods] from the search string, see how your results change.)

But anyway, I digress. No there is no other shortcut. If you want results of a specific rarity you have to select eng/sci/tac console type and the desired rarity. This is because there is currently a known issue when searching by rarity in the All category with no ETA for a fix. If that fix ever comes, you'll still have to specify rarity but at least you'll be able to search in the All tab and save yourself a few clicks.

On the up side.... they do seem to have fixed the bug where the game would sometimes not show you all of the search results.

That what you call a bug with search in all tabs actually it's not a bug. It's simple problem with to big data base to search in too short time. Search algorithm have time limit which make it unable to search whole base (that is why it didn't show all results with all tabs selected). Without that limit search process would take much more time and look like it's stuck.
