I would like to know if anyone can tell me how cryptic measures how many pvpers there are. I doubt they have a system that goes through every account and sees if you have played more pvp then pve then labels you one or the other. So the only way I can think that they do it is through the q how many people q how many pops a day etc.. So my question is to a community manager or dev is are private matches calculated into the system? And my question to fleets and players do you think you do as many private matches that can be difficult to setup for some as you would if you were to just simply q up? Would it not look better to have more people in the q. If i were cryptic and saw these dreadful q numbers i wouldn't drop a dime on it. I could be totally wrong maybe they have other ways to tell if your a pvper. But if it is measured by q activity i think we as a pvp community need to think about what we are doing and if it is hurting pvp. So if the community manger or anyone can tell us how it is calculated it would be very helpful.

Everyone eventually has the blame for something. Nobody excluded.

What sense is there going into the queues with all the horrible broken TRIBBLE, balance even more screwed because of rep passives, toys, etc. even if premaded did queue up more, or fleets, or teams, it made no difference. Matches have no value if the whole underlying mechanic is half broken in the first place.

Pretty much this. The game is just fundamentally broken at this point.

fleets that are butthurt dont have to pvp. its ok

your circle extends victory with ease is over. u lament.

the creep has thoroughly infiltrated all aspects of the game and if u dont "buy in" u will inevitably be outclassed. Complaining about how u cant break voth shield, or how proton "got you anyway" despite your heal-centric builds, isnt helping anyone or the game. (bring vaper or lose)

the people who are staying away from pvp, because their expected level of pugstomp is no longer so easily attainable, can stay gone.

the tide waxes and wanes, but there now is an inundation in favor of certain playstyles. People need to get beyond what they think "should happen" in pvp, and get behind what can be happening, such as tournaments and attempts at balanced games with no biased ruleset.

And really saying "so much broken stuff in the queues".. is a big lie, the definition of broken being the people saying these things going around PURPOSELY to expose said broken things is a thing of the past.

In fact the greatest evil is the attitude of "this shouldnt be allowed". As one might say a great crime was purported against the entire playerbase of the last tourny, as those who fear change were quick to ban the loadout swap.

nothing needs nerf. need more dmg. wheres mah flanking

i do contest there are in fact many more pvpers than most people think. at any given time 100s of people can be drawn from to play a proper game in the opvp chat channel, given the right host and time. there are legions of pvpers willing to bear arms in a righteous contest, as continuosly succesful organized tournaments can attest. with player run leaderboard, cryptic sponsored tournys...

    PVP HAS NEVER BEEN BETTER

i actually played kdf premade and got pops saturday night. props to torandra and friends for several good games, their fed premade joined opvp chat after and all were happy and said gg.

as a kdf player who endured many yrs of neglect and suffering in pvp, im happy

I have been spenind ing so much time catching up to the current end game level for rep and geear and really do not want to go into PvP to get rofl stomped because I am in essence re-learning the metagame and getting gear needed. MKXI borg set is rather antiquated. The last PvP I did with my MKXI borg gear had me catch the ire of a bunch of pugs on the other side calling me arrogant and other choice adjectives because they felt I was coming in with lower gear to be arrogant regardless that was the highest gear I had and was stomping them with it. I only get to play a couple hours a night and really do no thave room in my life for that type of drama.
Hey I Used to be Captain Data, well I guess I still am in game but the account link really screwed everything up

I don't vape, you know that. I'm a sci exclusive and always have been. Also, I'm not just talking about PvP, I'm talking about the game as a whole. Loadout swapping, for instance, shouldn't be a bad thing, it should be great, however the fact that swapping things, for identical copies of themselves, resets cooldowns is broken. Cooldowns exist for a reason. If it were supposed to work like that Cryptic wouldn't nuke threads on the subject. It's an exploit, plain and simple.

PvP has never been better for your playstyle, Mini, not everyone is you. Your own statements say that. Yes, I could adapt, and I did; but I don't find the current meta, or it's exploits, enjoyable. So I went away. 3 weeks STO free now, and loving every second of MechWarrior again, it's much more balanced now.

Ah.....no. It's never been more fundamentally broken. The only reason you may not be seeing it is that a lot of the pvp fleets have elected not to destroy the queues and pvp and so have given Cryptic a chance to fix it. We sent them the info. I pray they do something about it soon. The stuff out there now makes the constant nadeon torp or cheesefleet look like kindergarteners at a gangfight.

I'm more than just a little leary of convincing my fleeties in DTfleet to do pvp.

Recently I was 'in channel' where members of an unaffiliated fleet were discussing how to farm PvP by running multiple accounts to effectively cheat the system, before switching up the conversation on how to 'gack' newbies in PvP.

Yup, another positive reason to enjoy the PvP experience.

PvP in it's current form is a difficult to get into. There's nothing official, no in-game mechanism to get you started, or to match you with equivalently skilled players.

PvP in its current form is a TRIBBLE shoot.

Cryptic has expended almost nothing to improve it in the 3 years I have been playing.

Why expend the effort, when the fun is non-existent?

Holy TRIBBLE I saw that and really liked the overall aesthetic! It's really awesome to know that it's yours. Very very well done on that concept, original while keeping with the overall star trek feel. My favorite part the mission pod connection to the nacelles. Made them look like it exists like that for a reason and tied it together really well.

Has he ever flown a non-cloaky vapey clicky clicky?

To see mini in an actual escort in Arena 5v5?

That would get me to take a break from other games and PvP here for one night.
