I know that there are others out there who share my opinion that the DS9 interior could use a little polish. Today while listening to some Sinatra I was struck with a great idea. Put in holosuites upstairs at Quark's featuring Vick's Lounge! The whole upstairs area is pointless anyway. This would provide a reason to actually go up there. Actual audio of James Darren's music could be included just for this area. Also, since it's a casino, there could be Earth games like blackjack, craps, and slots that would be exclusive to this location as well. (All of which have been featured on screen)
The DS9 interior does need more polish. They half-assed a facelift around the time of the Dominion featured episode. Changed a few things, added Sisko's office, altered the lighting in Quark's, etc.
But the chairs still clip into the tables, the chairs were not given the 'sitting' technlogy we see elsewhere (even though it was available), and yeah... no holosuites.
According to the STO tie-in novel Needs of the Many, Vick was declared a sentient lifeform and his program runs 24/7 in Quark's. So it's not without precedent that this could become a reality in the game.
I support the idea, but doubt its probability from happening.
I suspect that not only would they need to hire James Darren to voice Vic (they can't just rip it from the episodes for licensing reasons), but they'd probably also have to get a license to play the Sinatra music and that wouldn't be cheap.

Although, personally, I agree that would be cool.
They wouldn't need to hire him, and they'd only need to alter Vick's appearance so he did not resemble James Darren (easily altered since he's a hologram). There's plenty of things in the game without voice acting. Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to have him back as Vick -- but it's not a necessity by far.
As far as Sinatra's songs being licensed? I don't see the reason for it. The songs and lyrics are in the public domain, but Sinatra's recordings of those songs are not in the public domain.
It'd be cheaper to just hire someone else to sing Old Blue Eyes' hits.
Maybe Dave Rivas can sing "Blue Moon" while reprising Shon.

Vic's too old and CBS said no to old things ages ago.
Trust me, this idea has been bouncing around my shell for ages now. If I ever get a chance to rebuild DS9, I will definitely fight for this. However, there are no plans to do so right now.

A trip to the Gamma Quadrant to convince the Dominion to fight on 'our' side from a story perspective might give your bosses incentive to put DS9 on your plate. And from a financial perspective it's an additional way to shill out more chances to get those nifty Dominion ships for money.
Wow, a thread I started actually got a response from the Taco. I'm honored. Thanks for the reply man. Bummer that it's not on the plate right now. Maybe that will change sometime.

Stop sleeping and build DS9 when you would have been sleeping, see, simple.
Then present the complete, new, remastered, rebuilt, DS9 to the other Devs to add into the game.
:P
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Left disappointed.

As always, thanks for your honesty.
