I will quote a statement made by someone I know who does not post on these forums but finds the arguments funny about "uniform color":
"Command, Operations, Sciences, Medical - four basic divisions represented on a Starship circa TNG.
Command wears red. They command the ship. The Captain, the XO, a handful of others who are the senior most (and apparently) non-specialist staffers seem to all wear red. They're paper pushers.
Operations wears gold. They operate the ship. Tactical, Security, Engineering, are all examples of these glorified button mashers. They mash buttons as hard as they can after the paper pusher says "MAKE IT SO!"
Sciences wears blue. They science the science. Sometimes they put a science in your science because they heard you like science. A lot of science going on here, but not much else. They cause problems.
Medical wears sorta-blue-sorta-green. They make you turn your head and cough, or at least they try to. You probably don't want to be alone with these people given how even their outfits cannot make up their minds about simple things like coloration - don't say you weren't warned.
It's that simple. Why do people argue about this? Even CBS recognizes this as canon."
Science and Medical BOTH wear blue, or are you going to tell me that the only actual medical officer in the show was Beverly Crusher, as she was really the only one to wear the Blue-green uniform color.
Also, Colors have changed even in the show, or do you not think TOS color's are canon?
Tactical/Security are combined, as are Engineering/Operations and Sciences/Medical. Command comes from any of the three.
FWIW, the color they started using for Medical at some point in TNG was Teal Green (bear in mind that there is also a shade of blue known as "Teal Blue," so "Teal" by itself is ambiguous).
medical is part of science devision BUT has clearly a different color. teal and sci blue is not the same it can be seen in various tng, ds9 and voy episdes that some of the uniforms differ in the colors. medical also has its own patch in tos. it was always a own sub division and thus stated by rddenberry also needed a sllightely different color. its also mentioned in the special edition tng box and the tox remastererd extras somewhere.

If you read the original post you would know that it's mostly a quotation of something someone else said about all of the threads about uniform color that have been sprouting up.
The basis for the statement is based off of their knowledge of the production of the various series.
I'll pass along your message if you like, they'd certainly have a good chuckle at your concluding argument - I mean that's just funny stupid.

I noticed the coloration differences myself were fairly apparent on DS9.

Yes, the undershirt on the DS9 work uniform in later episodes went teal-green when they sifted from color-coded shoulders to colored under-shirtsshirts with uniform-shoulders; but Jadzia (sciences) wore the same color as Bashir (Medical) and later Ezri (Medical) when in the same uniform types. So there really is no difference other than the particular shade was different for science/medical (both) on that uniform.

Which part, the color or the division? I'm no expert but isn't Starfleet Medical an entire Division of Starfleet generally?
Does that mean you posted something inappropriate and you realized it after the fact?

Odd quote, good point about teal.
Lets go for one an hour.
