Looking for suggestions on the Jem Dreadnaught.

Ok, I plan on in the rear using either 3 turrets or 2 turrets and a torp, but in the front I want a mix of angle and firepower, so I figure use a DHC, 2 Beam Arrays and a torp, or a DBB, 2 single cannons(dont mock), and a torp. Which works better?

For most of the faster content, Beam Arrays (no cannons at all) give the best engagement options. I only use DHCs on the Jem Dread I have in slow and predictable stuff like STFs and CCE. Simply setup a loadout for a beam array boat and a cannon boat and switch based on what you're running would be my suggestion, instead of trying to have one loadout to do two different things at the same time.

It has a turn rate of 6, almost the worst possible. It's nowhere close to enough for dhcs. The only carrier able to handle dhcs is Kar'fi, and just barely. Fit it for full beam broadside.

Mixing DHCs here, arrays there, a torpedo over there, won't do much more than a very impressive light show. Pick one arc and focus on making that your kill zone. For something with the speed of the Jem Dread, that probably means either 6 beam arrays and the KCB, or else a turret platform. Anything else, the time you spend repositioning is time you won't be on target.

More than anything else, pick one thing and stick to it.

Ok, how would turrets and say single cannons work, overall?

I'm going to disagree with the majority here. The JHDN is my primary pve ship, and a couple of APomegas, and some extra juice from a leech will make for a much more maneuverable weapons platform. My primary damage dealers are torpedoes, and it is easy to keep the nose pointed in the right direction.

Here's my contribution to the world of nasty . . .

    http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=ussgodzilla_3602

95% PvE, with the VERY occasional venture into PvP

It's an A2B build, using Rom plasma all around - i've found that even with RCS or dil mine consoles to assist the turn rate that it was still a fraction too slow for my likeing in PVE when using cannons/torps

    On a good day, it's a 20-22k build

    Cheers,

    B.

I have to ask what are you thinking. Your build have torp spread and high yield torp with no torp on it. Besides that I like the build. Myself I would earn the 200 Lobi and get the mkxii Jem set and use polaron with a amp warp core. Amp add back end damage bonus instead of adding to base numbers. I would use elite scorpion fighters for your torp damage.
