Need Help with Weap Power drain on Ha'apax

I am noticing a substantial weapon power drain on my Ha'apax and was wondering what I could do to fix it. I an new to Romulan builds and am unfamiliar with Singularity Cores. I am thinking it's something to do with the one I'm running (Uncommon Plasma Integrated Singularity Core Mk VIII [SingS] Is there another one I should be running as I am working on a tank build. Any advise is gratefully appreciated.

you have 8 weapons: it is normal to struggle to try to feed that many.
    The things you can do...

    1) use moar weapon power gear. Most of the rep consoles add power to one system or another, use any that add to weapon power. You can also get weap power from various engines (the Jem H impulse for example). The plasmoic leech is considered by many to necessary on every ship -- and its easy to get for KDF. Kdf can also use their free (around christmas) BOP console that adds 30 weapon power for a while. (I know you are rom, but they are low level ships that you could fly cross faction, so you can loot the consoles from them).

    2) Use moar bridge officer skills. Engineers can do a variety of skills including power to weapons which boosts damage and power both. Sci can drain a target and get a bunch of power easily.

    3) Spec? I *highly* recommend 6 points in ALL of the system power and related skills. These add a flat bonus to all your power levels.

    4) use 6 energy weapons and 2 torps if you are doing beam array broadsides. Or turn off the back weapons (turrets) and fire forward heavy hitters -- and turn them back on once you have more power.

Remember you need to over-cap -- that is, the more weapon power you can get, the better, as 150 weapon power shows up as 125 or whatever but after firing a volley, you STILL HAVE 125 because it came off the 150 total, see? Its capped at 115 -130 or so depending on your gear and ship, which limits the dps bonus from power, but over cap helps manage drain.

I don't have a specific warp core in mind -- the better fleet ones should have a redirect from one system to another (takes a % of say weapon power and puts it in shields, and I think every combination exists). You said tanking so you probably want good shield power and good weapon power....

Singularity Cores do not have system synergy modifiers, and none grant the +5 or +10 max power that M/AM cores have (which is irrelevant anyway, since no core, singularity or M/AM, increases your maximum weapons power).

However, Emergency Power to Weapons, Auxiliary to Battery, Plasmonic Leech, and the Assimilated Console + Kinetic Cutting Beam will all help you manage your drain.

If you use plasma weapons, use one Experimental Romulan plasma beam, takes no weapons energy at all. Use the cutting beam and thats another weapons slot not puliing energy.

He is right, the fleet cores do not have much. One variation seems to have a temporary battery-like bonus to a system for a few seconds.

And the one I have (random drop? Not sure but it isnt named or fleet) has +100% power regeneration for all systems. I have one that adds power to a system based off singularity charge, but I guess that does not exist for weapon systems. I am a bad rom, my main ship uses a regular core and I have not looked at one in a long while.

One of your problems is that you are using a Mk VIII core when you can likely use MK IX at LEAST. EP2W and weapon batteries are both useful in cutting this down, as well as using a torpedo or mine.

The cutting beam had a -8wp drain sorry to say.

Thanks for everyone's input on my problem!! Upgraded to a Mk X Rare Thoron Infused Singularity Core and trained my engineering boff in EP2W and A2B as well as picked up Weap Batts and a couple of doffs that support A2B.
