The Mission will stay in the game and will still give Engine, Deflector, and Shields - and EV Suits. It will not give the Warp Core, though. You can only get the Warp Core and Secondary Deflector from the Science Destroyer.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Yes. The mission will be moved down to the bottom of the story arc in the Dyson section (which should make it playable only by level 50s maybe?) of the journal. The standard rewards will all still be available, but the ship was never from the mission so the gear that comes on it won't be there (except from the lobi store).

The only thing that is not going to be gotten when the event ends is the Qmendation pool. the Deflector, Shield, Impulse Engines, as well as the three EV suits are staying in the mission...

The Secondary Deflector and Warp/Singularity Core are a part of the Ship, not the mission. So, if you don't have the ship, you won't get the Secondary Deflector and Warp/Singularity core, unless you buy the 600 Lobi ship (which is the Anniversary ship).

sorry to bump into here but I'm too new to make threads apparently.

I'm new to the game, heard of the game because of the 4th anniversary event making some blips on some sites. spent a few days getting used to the basics and wanted to get the dyson destroyer so I've ran the mission and the been doing the daily mini game thing after I got to level 10 but just noticed that the event ends in 2 days time (event runs for just 25 days for something that needs minimum 15 days to get if you already got characters able to start it) and I'm still short about 240 qmendations does that mean new players like me wont be able to get it? and what happens to all the unused qmendations after event ends?

searched up other ways of getting qmendations faster but it seems the only other way is via lock boxes for lobi crystals which give only a tiny number of crystals, the maths works out at a massive $140 to buy the keys for those boxes. or buy the ship for $25 after the event ends which is in my opinion way too high price for a single game item. and seems like you can't buy sips on the exchange either.

You can hang onto the qmmendations apparently, they wont magically disappear.

We have been told that they will form the basis for a future event, so if you dont get enough this time you'll have a huge head start the next.

Also, you need not spend money zen to get keys and, thus, lobi.

Keys are available on the exchange for a shade less than 2 million Ec a pop.

I know it sounds a lot but as you level up you'll find it a not unachievable amount of cash.

Also, dilithium can be converted directly to zen. Scrounging up 125 zen that way is also fairly easy once you hit the higher levels.

with a high level player I'm sure it would be quiet achievable by the march 13 deadline to obtain the ship with lobi store qmendation pack, but as a completely new player buying enough keys from the exchange is pretty much impossible. I know they need to make money from the game now that they moved to free to play, but the prices for the "micro-transaction" I've browsed through is really ridiculous, they'll get much more sales and profit in total if they lower the prices.

Yes, unfortunately you will not be able to get your free ship. I am kinda in the same boat as you. I already got the free ship for my Federation character, but I created a Klingon character not very long ago (unfortunately) and I will not have enough Qmmendations to qualify for the free ship. I think I will be 120 Qmmendations short. Gonna play the Solarean tonight so at least I get a free EVAC suit to go dilithium mining later along with some gear.

As for converting dilithium to Zen.... here's a few things to keep in mind.

    1. The dilithium you receive from missions is unrefined ore. You need to refine them before you can use them.
    2. You can only refine 8,000 dilithium crystals every 24 hours. Sounds like a like, but many veteran of STO can farm (grind) more than 8,000 per day especially if they are in a fleet.
    3. I believe subscribers can refine 9,000 dilithium per day.
    4. Zen is the highest, most sought after currency in the game. There are only two ways that I know of (note I have only been playing STO for about 1 month) to get your hands on some Zen. A) Spend real money for it. In the US $1 = 100 Zen. B) Convert dilithium to Zen.
    5. The current exchange rate is 130 dilithium = 1 Zen.

You can get a ship that normally sells for 2,500 Zen ($25) for free if you can gather enough dilithium to convert into Zen.

    2,500 Zen * 130 conversion factor = 325,000 dilithium

Assuming you can farm 5,000 dilithium per day / every day, it will take you 65 days to "save up" for that ship.

People who have a gold subscription get a DOFF mission that takes 2 days to complete that refines 1000 Dilithium,as far as I know. Since I have never gained enough dilithium to go over the daily refining cap I have never needed the mission.
