Idk if its just me but i get bored in STO very easily as of late. ive run out of story that i haven't done and most of my ships are fairly geared. the stf's ive done a hundred and nine times, on different ships. i have a fleet and they are fun and interesting, dont get me wrong, but wish STO had somthing similar to WOW's raiding, or A i o n 's massive world PVP. Just something to keep me interested in the end game of my favorite franchise. and suggestions as to what i can do in the meantime of waiting for the next X-pack?
I will just repost what I posted in another thread:
When I am bored I simply play other MMOs - I currently have over a dozen on my hard drive that I bounce between.
Someone made a post a month, or so, ago comparing STO to I Love Lucy. If you come home from work every day and watch nothing on TV but I Love Lucy for 2-3 hours then in a relatively short time you are going to start screaming about being bored with TV. Just as the average person watches several different TV programs per night, and per week, you need to treat gaming the same way. You cannot play STO 20-30 hours a week for months, or years, and expect to never be bored.
Too much of anything will almost always lead to boredom. Variety is the spice of life.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
I am playing other games to no fall into been boring. I like Forsaken World, totally different area and keeps me bussy so when I play STO I don't feel bored.
Too much of the "same old, same old" will always lead to stalking in forums searching for people who are going through the same issues.
I have already played 2 hours of STO today. Part of the joy of being retired is that have several hours a day to read gaming forums.
But it does seem like you are stalking me in the forum. Maybe you need a life?

Nothing personal, if you take a look at the forums you will be seeing atleast 2-3 same kind of threads about sto being done and needing badly something new etc.

No one is denying the game needs new content. I have been on the mission content rant for 4 years now.
But at the same time it is important to understand that content takes months to produce. Even if the new Expansion Pack is entirely new content in the Delta Quadrant - which is what has been hinted at - there are still players who are going to blow through it in a week or less and be right back where they started. I play a dozen different games and in all of them the players are wanting more content. It is the traditional rant on gaming forums.
The best way to deal with a slow-content game is to not put all your eggs in that basket. There are several hundred MMOs out there - many of them FTP - to help with someone's boredom. Just as with the TV example, no one thing is going to satisfy everyone forever.

Maybe the one who should go away is you, the OP had a point and i agree with it!
He made a good suggestion, actually. The OP should find something more meaningful to occupy time with if STO has gotten boring.
Cryptic just can't seem to pull of a content release that keeps people hooked...and stay hooked. Season 8 was fun for a while, but boredom quickly settled in. I honestly think Cryptic needs to go bigger with content releases. Instead of one battlezone, for example, there should have been multiple battlezones with different flavors in terms of mechanics, maybe even add progression of some sort (ex: complete a battlezone to access a new area). And nerfing the Dyson space adventure zone rewards didn't help things either.
The game needs more open zones to make it feel more more alive, as well as new content that is actually worthwhile and rewarding rather than feeling like a boring chore that rewards little to nothing.

All true and agreed, but still. Its STAR TREK! As a fan of it - it should have the worlds best "healthcare" lols
It's next to impossible to do the same thing over and over and not get bored from time to time.
Just because an MMO is always on, does not mean you have to play it all the time. Take a break and play something else for a bit. If you try to force it, you will just get more annoyed with the game.
One of the wonders of STO, and Cryptic games in general, is that if you take a break for a while, say a few months, your account will still be there waiting for you. If STO is boring, find another game to play for a while, or spend a couple of weeks organizing the garage or whatever other menial tasks have built up while you've been in-game, and come back when the urge to take your starship out of mothballs and blast hostile aliens grows in you again.
And if it never does, perhaps you can at least avoid becoming one of those bittervets who stays even after having wrung the last bits of joy from the game, not being entertained any longer, and living only to drive others away. We have too many of those already.

Make threads on the forum complaining about how you're bored? :P
My best advice is go away, play something else and come back when the next big content drop is released.

Variety is the spice of STO. <- Something that Cryptic might consider...
