"I walked away from the last great Time War. I marked the passing of the Time Lords. I saw the birth of the universe and watched as time ran out, moment by moment, until nothing remained. No time, no space. Just me!"
The Romulans get a more "Vulcan Red" hull material than the Vulcan ship does. The Romulans.
As I have seen. This is completely illogical, and, in my opinion, requires remediation as soon as is practical. It seems to me that the Romulan material could essentially be copied onto the D'Kyr with minimal modification.

The reason for the brown look for Romulan ships is actually "Nemesis".
Given how often this comes up in the forums it seems that this has been totally lost on most people who saw the movie. The Valdore's sister ship was brown.
The D'Kyr users are still lucky, the STO Kumari's skin doesn't even seem to try to match the one from the show.
As far as I understand it the Kumari class is named after the Andorian Battle Cruiser rather than being the same class as the ship in Enterprise.
The D'Kyr is meant to be the same class of Vulcan ship that appeared in Enterprise updated with modern technology.
Unless the red/bronze paint job was outdated tech I don't know why it has changed to a yellow-gold colour?
The least they could give us a red hull texture for those that want to use it.

When I saw the first screenshot of the STO D'kyr I was scratching my head thinking "looks like they chose the worst lighting possible to show off this ship, it makes the colour look all wrong"...then I saw the ship ingame...
Anyway the colour should not have any impact on the technology underneath, otherwise things like the brown and green version of the Romulan ship from Nemesis make no sense nor do the various grey and green versions of the K't'inga we saw over the years.
At the very least each ship should have a colour option available that matches the canon look.
The more I think about it the more I'm surprised Cryptic chose this weird colour for the D'kyr in the first place. I can accept that the Vulcans might have chosen a different painting scheme at some point after the 22nd century. But then a "modern era" skin would have made sense if it had matched the 24th century pain job on the T'Pau type from TNG:
A T'Pau later on in the show had a brown hull, it was modified to serve as the Tosk ship (re paint and hull modifications) later the hull mods were removed but the colour stayed.
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Yo, totally forgot about that one. Indicates the brown and grey version were even operated at the same time. Also: more brown.;)

Here is a shot from DS9:
"I walked away from the last great Time War. I marked the passing of the Time Lords. I saw the birth of the universe and watched as time ran out, moment by moment, until nothing remained. No time, no space. Just me!"
I like the link between the Vulcan and Romulan design philosophies with the split hulls / warp wings, the T'Pau type does look like a mini D'Drex.

The really interesting thing, for me, is that this is only visible from the side when you can see that the front of the Vulcan ship is a bit like a "beak".
Another noteworthy detail is that on the "modern" Vulcan design the warp ring appears to be sturdier, almost armored as opposed to the rather thin appearance we see on the 22nd century design.
How about this (simple Hue shift from Gold to Red):
"I walked away from the last great Time War. I marked the passing of the Time Lords. I saw the birth of the universe and watched as time ran out, moment by moment, until nothing remained. No time, no space. Just me!"
Succinct analysis. I like the suggestion for the red-tinted material. I've also always wanted a more Starfleet material option. The material suggested by the T'pau model would nicely bridge that interest. Not sure if an already established material exists that would be close or not.

it's grey, blue with gold/brown accents.
