I'm hitting this with my tac today, and I'm curious if anyone cares to weigh in on auxiliary power configuration offense vs defense. Offense seems like the obvious answer, but is the defense one a big enough boost to help out a squishy escort? What do you guys think?

I went with the Aux defense configuration and sensed the difference. I play a Sci and would not suggest defense for a variety reasons.
Your main system is weapons power, and you benefit most when it is maxed. I do not regret my choice, but I'd only endorse Aux defense if you are going to max out your Aux power a super-majority (near 100%) of the time.
Go offense, moar dakka solves all problems. Also the damage resistance one will be pretty rubbish if you already have highish resistance through consoles.

It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.
A master with a stone is better than a novice with a sword.
Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.
