If so then, it's because I like the overacting, watch The Mark of the Rani (which certainly cannot be found online after a brief google search ;) ). The bombastic style isn't to everyone's taste but it does show another side of a man who is really meant to change with each life.
Neat. TEHO, I guess. Bombasticness and ham was more Kirk's thing, though; it never feels right from the Doctor.

My King requests you all kneel.
However he is beyond such worship, only the war matters to him now.
Prepare to meet the Moment as you all must. Though fear not, as you will be remade as multitudes of potential to win this war in heaven.

And see the Nightmare Child tremble and weep against our unified might (And my unified I of cause mean you being assimilated by the King).

Actually it was Skeletor that did the "KNEEEEEEL" thing before all of you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOsHoqhbUIU

But it doesn't matter, because everyone knows it's King Oberon who actually rules the world, as he's the one with the actual fleet of UFOs.

    Dang...

And King Oberon is pointless. Sovereign Ba'al's fleet of Doom numbers a hundred thousand ships, and more are coming in as we speak. His glorious Conquest shall shake the Earth, and he shall rule with a minimum loss of life (the Sovereign doesn't like killing people; it puts a real damper on his day).

I like really loved Colin's portrayal, however I hated the costume. I think this is an excellent summary of why Colin (and Sylvester) suffers so much from public opinion.

They already have a prototype built.

They were only in the Sovereign's first timeline. This is his 3rd. He almost got killed by Cameron Mitchell in the last one, due to a stable time loop...

    It's complicated.

But this is the second time he's been betrayed by his wife, and by some kind of Timey Wimey Stuff, he actually REMEMBERS dying.

A test model and a prototype are different things. That particular model is just an exterior in the proposed shape with dead weight inside to simulate cargo, crew, and equipment. It's not made of spaceworthy material (it looks like plastic with open bolt holes because it's plastic with open bolt holes), and was only built to test impact and deceleration using various landing methods. The prototype is still under construction and is planned to fly an unmanned test in September or October, but it was supposed to fly last summer and isn't finished yet, so their 2016 target to start taking over crew rotations for the ISS is questionable, to say the least.

Dragon 2 is bigger. Possibly cheaper, too, but it'll probably be next year before we get any idea what the actual cost per pound is on either it or Orion and not just preliminary targets. Even if Orion's cheaper, Dragon 2 will probably still get good business supplying the ISS due to size, it can do almost as much in one launch as Orion does in two.

However, the full Orion system's capabilities will far exceed Dragon 2's, capable of independent operation for several weeks pretty much anywhere within cislunar space (the asteroid capture proposal involves lunar orbit missions using Orions).

That, of course, is assuming that the full capabilities ever emerge from the nebulous budget-magic of the future - the prototype they're building now is going to be little more than a beefier version of Soyuz, suitable for little more than LEO ferry work. With the Atlas V and Altair components being cancelled entirely, Orion's usefulness out there is somewhat diminished even if its intended scope is realized.

It looks pretty good so far.

It looks a lot better than the Apollo capsule!

I like the size. Room for cargo?

    It makes a great Wallpaper!

It better work or we just continue to rely on the Russians?

What happened to that cool miniature shuttle? It looked like it could carry maybe

4 astronauts but that's it. - Bare minimum cargo -

The problem was that the shuttle cost billions to maintain, even without the boosters. A rocket with reusable launch stage and capsule is much cheaper to run - especially if you have a Private Company running it.

And what, may I ask, is wrong with relying on the Russians? I mean, the Soyuz is crude, but the Cold War ended 20 years ago. Welcome to the 21st Century.

In Britain, we have to use the ESA's launch sites/vehicles to transport our astronauts (at least until Skylon is up and running). Do we complain about that? No.

The issue with the Orion project was that when it was mated with the Constellation booster, the pair produced unacceptable levels of vibration in static tests (as in, if it had been used for an actual launch, there was some chance the crew would have suffered internal injuries). And unfortunately the Bush administration was utterly married to the old disintegrating-totem-pole concept of spaceflight, and to the government-funding paradigm. So there was no funding for any competing concepts, or for any serious development of alternate goals in space besides "putting a man on the Moon - again."

The Obama administration was decried as "cutting NASA" in the beginning, but careful observers noted that what was cut was most of the funding for Orion. The overall budget remained, which helped companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin get off the ground (as it were).

TRIBBLE capitalism. Capitalism inevitably ends with the Ferengi Alliance and Liquidator Brunt.

Actually, Brunt is cool, because Jeffery Combs. But the rest? Not so much.
