Hey guys. I'm just returning after a 2 month hiatus and was wondering what has changed in regards to PvP during that time. I logged on for the first time yesterday, but didn't really have a chance to look at anything cause I was immediately invited to some private PvP matches and played a bunch of games back to back without having the chance to check out anything. And speaking of friends, I don't think I've ever seen my friend's list as populated with online players as it was yesterday. So it seems like people are still enjoying the game, which is good.
Anyways, it felt good to be back. PvP really is fun

If a man is drowning in the ocean, does adding more water to the ocean affect him drowning? This would appear to be Cryptic's stance on things - where they're freely admitting they're adding powercreep in podcasts and their intended audience is cheering them on...asking for even more.
Technically there's Shuttle PvP - but that's kinda tough to get into.
Examples include most science abilities and the cool downs of these clicky consoles would be significantly shorter for a higher uptime.
I know everyone wants to say the devs don't care or do stuff for PvP but they always do consider what it would be like to be on the receiving end of a lot of these consoles and abilities which is why most are not useful in PvE.
It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.

Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.
Consider yes but actually test no. It sux in PvE my tactical fleet buff breaks my cloak but in PvP it doesn't. Between OP stuff we have stuff that does not work consistently in game. UI lag is most common in PvP but in PvE powers fire off when clicked. Considering something and testing something are 2 different things. I am considering sleeping with Megan Fox does not mean I will, have or tried.
I think it goes both ways. Yeah there's a lot of thing balanced around PvP, VM being one of them but GW was balanced around killing a group of probes.
But really, who needs control effects in pve anymore. Besides a few special cases all one needs to do is achieve a certain level of DPS and everything dies before any science, including heals a lot of times, is even needed. That's why this game is getting boring to me. No thinking required, just copy some DPS build and bind to space. Don't get me wrong, the people that parsed, experimented, and found the best DPS possible are really intelligent people, but the people following in their footsteps...well... It's just all not good for the future of the game.
But yeah, the fact that most consoles are useless in PvE and are TRIBBLE in PvP, should mean something is off to the devs, but who knows what the devs believe the state of the game is.
Er...yeah. My point was that just because the Devs don't give you lots of new maps, game modes etc it doesn't mean they don't care or think about PvP.
Yes GW was mostly tested around frigates but it was also tested on players on tribble and stuff, I should know I was one of the people testing it and tykens rift.
Yeah dps and in general damage just outright wins in most cases. This is one of the reasons why there's so much QQ in especially this forum about FAW and everything else, people want to blame something but the reality is that damage is just so silly now it renders most things pointless. Most, not all.
I stopped playing myself, I said I'd log in this coming weekend to help get marks for the KDF star base but I just can't be bothered anymore.

6th doff, tac consoles with built in CrtH or CrtD mods from the fleet spire, Proton Barrage a overpowered attack that can 1 shot kill sometimes from 3 piece dyson space set, I think that covers most power creep.
Other then that only thing interesting in pvp is HOBO and Nova Core are at war over some disputes between leaders and over members leaving 1 fleet or the other and we are hunting each other in the queues and Kerrat a lot, lol.
What IS that?!?!?!!?! is it a comsole? a BOFF power??? its all black, then green boom.....WHAT IS IT!?!?!?
Assuming you're seriously asking, and not making a joke (my detector's on the fritz), it's the Console - Universal - Subspace Integration Circuit. Came out of the Elachi lock box. You'll find them on the Exchange under the Engineering console section for some reason.
How can that be? I thought Zelly quit several times already!
Also anyone got some crackers or biscuits?

Is that also called the black ball of doom.
Far as I know - yep.
