    Kidding, right?

Interchangable Commander BoFF slots and not one but two four-sets. These are the first Tier 7 ships and an indication of what is to come through the rest of the year.

All three of the ships are middle of the road useful. I've been pugging a lot this week and keep grouping with them so much. I miss grouping with more scimitars and the like. Things die quicker.

But the new car smell will die down soon enough.

With continued power creep they couldn't give us 11 console ships without making all the 10 console ones look like the once powerful Galaxy Dreadnought does now. So instead we get switchable Commander BoFFs and 4-sets.

The Galaxy Dreadnought was never powerful. From the day it debuted it was a gimmick and an oddity that didn't do as well as other cruisers.

Not that big a deal considering how few science ships the KDF and Romulan Flotilla have available to them.

This is also legit to consider, even though they're pretty balanced against each other. The cold hard fact is that these are the best sci.ships the KDF and RR have, while the Feds already have better.

Aww... STFs not fun anymore when the OP 10k+ DPS builds are gone? Heaven forbid it take more than 5 minutes to do any mission and you actually have to do something besides fly in and spam the spacebar.

I still think the Vesta Class is better than the Dyson Ships... both regular & C-Store versions thanks to their Lt. Cmd. & Lt. uni BOFF seats.

I'm waiting for the Secondary Deflector system to be put into all science ships and seeing how they can make things more interesting.

Personally what gets me is the balance as is in this game. IT makes sense from a gaming point of view but not from a lore point of view.

Whats the point of investing money in a ship as a federation, empire, or what have you, when your latest ship can easily be destroyed by a ship built hundreds of years earlier?

It's like the more advanced we become the further back we step.

But back to the point at hand. Yes. The other factions do have a leg up if you compare them all. People who say their shield mod is enough, hasn't had it just vanish on them in pvp in less then a second and have to roll out skills before they wanted to. Shields men very little in pvp, they just give you an extra second or two to click or his you hot bar.

But does it matter if the other factions ship is better? That's their culture and their rules when building a ship so it goes into their ships standards. Feds are snobs and feel they are better then other factions so do not need these types of things to be good. It's a way of being superior. If you want more then you'll prolly have to stop being a Fed.

Personally i think this ship was designed to overlook feds, as a tongue in cheek way of saying, this and that faction needs this type of ship, but we will give it to feds as well so they won't complain. Too bad that went right out the window aswell. For a fed this ship is prolly not the best their is. But for the other factions it's probably manna from heaven. So let them have it and fly your morally superior fed ships with pride I suppose.
Even god rested. No work ethic.

I'm currently using the Rommie SD, but the build I have I'm betting it can be used on all of them. This is a Fed/Rommie character. I went for the 4 Tactical, 4 Science and 2 Engineer Console variant. I am using the Dyson set that gives the torpedo and the 180 degree Proton cannon, the complete Solenae space set and the set that is obtained from having all three ships (yes I bought the 9 pack at 10,000 zen). I use a single Dual Heavy Voth Cannons (I believe they are Polaron with Proton damage as an add on). I also use a single Photon Mine on this ship. All weapons are fleet or set. I use a Polaron damage enhancing console x2 (Dyson store), A Single Fleet Neutronium armor plate with hull health, Rule 62, and other consoles to boost my hull health. This build is doing fine.

On my KDF ship I am a Science Officer and have the Universal console from the 1st to 9th level BoP (for the additional power). I also use the Red Matter Device (a constant staple of all my builds). This ship is the pure science ship ship with nothing but Disruptors and the single dual heavy proton cannons. This isn't my main character on the KDF so he doesn't have all the gilts and glamour consoles taht my main KDF toon has. So far this build is doing okay and I see nothing but an improvement with its abilities as I get better Fleet Consoles for it.

Both of these builds I am having to use five pallets so all their capabilities is easily accessible during game play. I have yet to figure out how to open up the special pallet that is available with the SD that is used during the mission.

So far I like the ship. Sure each on has its faults. Rommie short on shield power hull health and energy. But isn't all ships. With the Fed SD you have the best shields and a good hull health for an escort/science ship. The KDF can be a tanking beast if you actually know what you are doing.
As your character gains tiers in the Reputation, you combat capabilities will vastly improve. So don't put these ships down until you have actually spent some time with them. Sure, the Rommie SD doesn't match the fire power of my Daeinos Heavy Destroyer. I don't ever think it will. But I like the way my Rommie SD is going so far.
